Long time listener, first time caller

Welcome aboard Lone Star Bluegrass. I agree somewhat with your reasons for "hesitation." Once in a while "we" get into a "my blonds" are prettier than "your brunettes" discussion. But there have been a number of times when folks have asked about taking larger PG with too small of a rifle. We all know of times where Elephants were killed by a 22 LR (speaking sarcastically of course) but they aren't recommended. Before joining AH I thought the largest caliber I'd ever need was a 30-06. Now I own several rifles whose caliber begins with a "4," BUT the animals I hunt with them are considerably larger than a Whitetail. Taken as a whole the folks here have a vast amount of experience and expertise when it comes to subjects related to firearms, hunting, shooting, reloading, associated travel arrangements etc. The best part is that we are willing to respectfully share our knowledge and yes sometimes our opinions. There are lots of "enablers" here, grab a beer or other beverage of your choice and join the party.

Welcome to the forum, sir. Great to have you join us. Hopefully you can attend one of our AH dinners held in Dallas in the future.
Take Care,
Marius Goosen

Welcome Bluegrass, agree with you about other forums. Not much of that going on here.

Welcome to the site.
Let us know if we can be of any assistance.
We might be able to start off your big game hunting with a lioness package hunt for $3 000 or a male lion hunt for $6 000.
Check the site under deals and you will find our specials.

Sincerely
Hans de Klerk

‘Evening all. I’ve been on for some modest research and finally joined the brotherhood a week or two ago. I mostly avoid hunting/shooting forums for obvious reasons but I’m digging the vibe here. Plus I’ve had my eye on a DG hunt ever since I narrowed my granddaddy’s copy of “Hunter”. Definitely the first book report on the Big Five to ever grace that 6th grade class!

Anyway, I’m Texas based, still in early planning stages for a hunt, soaking it in and hoping the wife thinks taxidermy from Africa costs the same as whitetails.

Welcome to AH!
