There are several professional hunters in Africa who, in my opinion, deserve to be considered Living Legends. A few that come to mind are:
  • Buzz Charlton
  • Coenraad Vermaak
  • Danny McCallum (retired)
  • Jeff Rann
  • Joe Coogan (retired)
  • Johan Calitz
  • John Sharp
  • Luke Samaras
  • Michael Angelides
  • Pete Fick
  • Pierre van Tonder
  • Robin Hurt
What notable PHs do you think should be included on this list? My list is non-exhaustive and many worthy hunters are not named.

Identifying today’s top professional hunters is relatively easy, but predicting the next generation of legends is more challenging. Which PHs who are currently operating do you believe will become future legends? This post got a lot of engagement on the Double Rifle Society Facebook group. I'm interested to see what the AH members think.

The Duckworths from the Save should make that list. Many P H’s are worthy but aren’t as well known because they don’t have a tv show or blog.

The Duckworths are definitely list-worthy!

Definetly Lou Hallamore who wrote Chui and @rookhawk said is the best leopard man alive today

An upcoming future legend is certainly Rumano De Beer of Limpopo, South Africa. He owns and operates his own game reserve and Lodge "RDB Safaris" and also has other concessions located in Limpopo, Free State, Namibia, and Botswana. He has a degree in wildlife biology and works with proliferation of many odd color phase animals such as the Golden, Royal and King WB's as well as black and white Impala for example. Has already been featured in one Africa hunting book "Enter Africa" and likely will see more in the future. As said, there are many quality PH's out there who do not get much notice. But, it is hard to hide quality. Mr. De Beer is one of the best.

Dave Langerman among others -BUT I really hate the concept of this post.
Far too many will be left out and some that shouldn’t get mentioned will simply because they are some American hunters buddy.
What is the criteria? TV exposure is imo the biggest factor with written exposure a close second.

Legends belong to the past, when Africa was a much different place as it is today.

There are no future legends, maybe good professionals.

Kai-Uwe Denker is a living legend and Michael Fell a legend in the making.

Back After a Long Time – Hello Again!

Hi everyone,

I’ve been a member since 2015 but haven’t been active since 2017. Life got busy, especially with building my second business. Still, I’ve kept my passion for hunting and followed things from afar. Now that I have more time, I’m excited to reconnect, contribute, and be part of the community again.

All the best,
ANDY

I'd like a bag of 100. I could actually pick it up since I'm in North Irving, but if you prefer, shipping it is fine.
