Young hounds start off trailing everything and it takes a process of several years to proof them off unwanted game.Fantastic! Are they prone to rioting on other game or are they fairly steady and only hunt leopard? Must be difficult to keep hounds in Tetse areas and to hunt in such dry conditions.
There are genetic traits that make certain breeds/individuals more suited to cat hunting however those pups still need to learn what the target quarry is.
Tsetse is a real danger to the hounds and we combat this by Prophylactic treatment and minimizing exposure - very similar to how us humans isolate Malaria risks.
