Little Brother comes home, the 300 Holland & Holland

Lovely rifles! I have a 1949 transition M70 .300 H&H that similarly needed restoration but I went with a cerokote finish and a laminate stock to make her my all around Alaskan work horse. I can’t imagine a better gun. View attachment 657313
That’s awesome! Love it!!!
You greedy b*st*rd! Lol.

Super nice.
Just trying to Represent Winchester and show what they can be to the collector and in the field brother! Growing the collection has been a life long dream…
Aaaaand gotta counter all those silly rifles from across the pond lol

Some of you may remember that I had a 1950 Transition Pre-64 Winchester M-70 in 375 H&H restored and restocked for me by LeRoy Berry at Canyon Creek Custom Gun Stocks that I posted about here
https://www.africahunting.com/threads/my-“old-but-new”-winchester-pre-64-375-h-h.78449/
And then promptly bought a 300 H&H that I sent to LeRoy and posted here
Well little brother has come home!!! I give you the 300 H&H!!!

I still need to mount the scope and QD Talley rings and bases. I’ll post pics when done…

Here are the two brothers together! Both 1950 transition magnum length Winchesters, one in 300 H&H and the other in 375 H&H, both stocked from the very same Turkish Walnut stock blank, and both serial #’d just 1015 apart!

Very happy and excited with the both of them and can’t wait to get them out to the Save!
@CZDiesel
Who needs a Rigby when you have those two beautiful rifles.
Hopefully you will hunt with them and maybe even get a ding or to so they can start telling their own story
They deserve to go hunting.

Nugget here. A guide gave me the nickname as I looked similar to Nugent at the time. Hunting for over 50 years yet I am new to hunting in another country and its inherent game species. I plan to do archery. I have not yet ruled out the long iron as a tag-along for a stalk. I am still deciding on a short list of game. Not a marksman but better than average with powder and string.
