Limpopo hunt

Hi. I posted here a couple of days ago as a new member. I am looking for a hunt in the Limpopo area for 10 days for kudu, gemsbok, warthog, impala, wildebeest, and blesbok.
One of my preliminary questions is the size of the area to hunt. I have seen several websites with hunting areas in excess of 100k. I know that is not one area but the total area that outfitter can hunt. What I am looking for is an outfitter that hunts larger areas (>15,000 acres) with animals that are at least partly naturally reproducing rather than an area that has to have animals being bought for the property.
I am a novice so I do not know if this is an unreasonable request or not. Not trying to step on anyone's toes or making any kind of judgement at all. This is just my personal preference so that is why I am asking. If this is doable contact me and we will talk. Thanks in advance..

@Speedster, I don't think looking for a large property, where you can do a fair chase hunt is unreasonable, anyone hwo gets offended by that is just selling you something you don't want. There are lots of great operation in the Limpopo big and small. I've hunted with an outfitter up there the past couple years and his main property is 25k acres and he hunts the adjoining farm of 50k acres, 75k acres altogether. Its pretty good size and as fair chase as you can get on a farm, super thick and a great spot and stalk hunt. You can Pm me and i'll send you the details if you want. Prices are good as well. JJ

Look at Kuche Safaris, we went with them last yr and took all of the animals you are looking to take plus several others. They are great people and have multiple properties they hunt. Some are smaller than 15000 acres but some are larger. I hunted both and never felt like I wasn't hunting wild animals that were naturally on the properties. Question to all others. If one were looking for a place in the Savanna Biome that has "the look" ( dry grass 1 1/2 feet tall, small-to-medium trees somewhat close together with just the occasional brush/thicket, dotted with small clearings, usually flat, and somewhat dry looking,) where in Limpopo is a good place for that? I assume you want to stay away from what are described as "riverine" areas as these are more like the Thicket Biome.

There are small pockets of Savannah like areas, but the majority of the Limpopo tend towards the thicker scrub, riverine landscape.I would be looking more towards Kalahari in RSA and Namibia.

KZN(Kwazulu Natal), Northern Cape(Kalahari), NW(North West) and Namibia.

I did hunt a place in KZN just south of Swaziland and west of Lake Pongolapoort that was beautiful, park-like, savanna. You can actually see what it looked like if you go to google maps and look on highway 2 where you see The White Elephant Safari Lodge and Bush Camp. Zoom in until you switch into street view.

I haven't encountered a place in Namibia like that yet but some of the photos in the hunting gallery for Aru Safari Lodges does look like what I have in mind. Photos 10, 11, 18, 19, and 22, for example with the man and woman posing with the Cape buf.

But the drive from Ozondjahe up to Otjitwarongo seemed more like Thicket Biome to me.

As BRICKBURN posted, it is your hunt so you get to decide what you like or don't like. I don't know why you picked the Limpopo of RSA but my guess it's reputation for large kudu and the sheer number of hunting operators marketing their hunts. If you are trying to avoid hunting on a 5-10k acre high fenced "preserve" then many of the operations in Limpopo may not be for you. It is up to you. I know that much of Limpopo is classed as savanna of the type that is very thick thorn scrub in broken country and not necessarily what one may think of when imagining a National Geographic "savanna". I know there are few high fence properties in Limpopo that are very, very large at more that 125k acres where there is no doubt of fully viable, reproducing populations of various species. But the fact that a property is large enough for a viable, reproducing population of a certain species is no guarantee every trophy male of that species was born in the wild there... just something to keep in mind. There are other areas in RSA that are free range as has been suggested. Also may be well to not discount countries like Namibia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Zambia or even Tanzania if money is of less concern. Also, I have no idea what RSA is thinking about with the 15% VAT, but it would figure into my decision on a destination.

My 3rd Safari last spring was with Motsomi Safaris. By far the best one yet. Our main camp was 15000 acres. Hunted another property 23000 acres and had another property close by 22000 acres. Trophies were abundant and great quality. Food staff and PH was excellent.
