Tell me more…I’d love a trip like that
The missus, my best friend, and I hunted there last August, going back for a 2nd trip. Best friend is coming back and maybe his GF, we'll see what that looks like in a couple years; and 3 buddies from work, 2 of them with very little hunting experience.

I think the missus and I are going to do a 10-day 2x1, the rest are doing the 7-day couples' package.

Looking at 10 days in 2027 as well.

We'll be hunting 21-30 August, staying at Sable Valley.

OK, but the zebra that you harvested on the first trip is going to be a pretty tough act to follow!

We will be with them in Sept this year for 10 days. I dont know if I could wait 2 years, you should book another trip for this year and next, Just to get ready ya know.

One year wait is bad enough, two years plus would feel like a lifetime. What's on your list to pursue this next trip?
Your zebra from your first trip is gorgeous.

We'll take what we can get this time. The missus definitely wants a zebra (she's dying for a pedestal mount), but beyond that - kudu, nyala, eland, gemsbok, red hartebeest, maybe a buffalo or 2. I got the missus the 375 cuz I figure after a couple bigger antelope, she'll decide she wants to do that, too. Otherwise, "my" 280AI was gonna become "her" 280 AI.

I've got some nice gentle loads with for the 375 - 270 gr Hornady at about 2310 fps. Also have a couple boxes of 300 gr TSX if she decides she really wants a buff. I won't tell her about the extra mustard I'm putting behind those, but I probably won't push them over 2400 or so.

Maybe go down to Free State for a day or 2 after black wildebeest and springbok.

Like I said earlier, just going to do a 2x1 this time, hunt what looks good.

Trust me, it hurts not going back this near now I've been once. IDK, may see if I can find a cancellation elk hunt for this September. I get regular email blasts from book your hunt dot com, there's always something.

The mornings are still quite cool, and air fare after 15 August are lower.

Don’t know how I missed this. You can’t say you weren’t warned! Africa gets to you and you will always want to go back! Congratulations!

The next 3 months and 11 days are going to be tough for me. It’s going to seem like time is going backwards!

It’s fun to plan! I’m about to set dates for my 2028 safaris.

I’ve requested price list and quota from a couple of different places, looks like 2027 will be my return.
Any place in particular you're looking?

I’m already booked for 2027 as well, to return to the eastern cape. It’s a long wait and a little early to get excited about it but it gives me motivation to keep dragging myself into work every day. Have fun preparing.

You have the wrong person. I have no idea what you are talking about..

I have been using a "Personal Property" rider on my State Farm homeowner's policy to cover guns when I travel with them.
I have several firearms, but only one is worth over $20K (A Heym double rifle).
Very interested.
Would firearms be covered for damage, as well as, complete loss?
I'll can let the State Farm rider cover my watches...
