Lever action hunting rifle

With the prices of real estate, gas prices, food prices, all going up buying power of dollar has gone down to 50%. It will be a good idea to wait on buying toys, and see where the market settles.

Never realized that's the rifle you were holding in that pic. What ammo did you use?

I still have quite a bit of Beartooth 525 and 425 gr bullets left. I think Marshall went out of business.

@sgt_zim: Hand loads using 3031 and 325 grain Cutting Edge brass solids. A very small sample size but both the buffalo and the zebra were one shot kills and neither lasted a ten count. The zebra was broadside; the buffalo was frontal facing.

Ordered a Henry long ranger for the wife and a BLR in 6.5cr today. Looking forward to playing with both. Not a “matching pair” but close enough as they’ll be 2/3 of our lever guns

Just a heads up if the BLR trigger is too heavy send it off to Neil Jones in Erie PA. He is a wizard with BLR triggers. When I bought mine in 358 win the trigger pull was 10 lbs when he performed his margin it came back at 3.5 and breaks like glass. With handloads it will shoot .75” groups with factory ammo 1.25-1.5”. Great rifle. I have only shot Henry 22 rifles but they are accurate with good trigger. Just not a fan of the buckhorn sights. I hope you and your wife enjoy your new rifles and have many exciting hunts together. I hope you both remember your father every time you use them. Be sure to tell him happy Father’s Day.

Fantastic, great choices. I'm also a fan of the 6.5 Creedmoor. Some are not, to me It's 6.5X55 in a readily available rifle.
Congratulations.

Good deal! Will love to hear a report on them.

Picked rifles up today. Through in my Model99 since seems to be so much love here for them. Anyone that reloads for the 300savage id be real interested in buying some rounds off of as I can’t get any consistency out of my Remington core lokt so she lives in the safe.

also figured out our office/gun room has aweful lighting…

I would love to have seen this with the 30" barrel. Still looks great though and a great caliber. Anybody want to float me a loan?
