Leupold VX6 on Boddington Kudu

Honestly, I have not fired it rapidly enough to heat the barrel.

I had it out last weekend and with it being warm as it is, I was only firing one shot every 3-4 minutes.

It seems like the No 1 can be very sensitive to barrel harmonics. I have only owned 5 now, and have not noticed them to be particularly fussy (my other 4 were 2@ 375 H&H, 2@ 45-70 and 1 .458...300 H&H is the only smallbore).

Maybe a Hick's Accurizer might help your rifle to settle down? Seems like many folks have had good luck getting more reliable accuracy from otherwise troublesome rifles?

Once I settle in on a load that I know shoots well, I will do some groups of 3 shots in 30 seconds to see if the group opens or walks inordinately.

I'm going to wait until it cools off a bit before starting up again. Last load I shot was 165gr North Forks using IMR4350. Got a good group one weekend, the next I had one going again and got a flier on last shot. But things were warming up the second weekend and IMR4350 from what I can tell starts to go squirrely when the temp hits 90 to 95.

I simply used a brass drift and a small plastic mallet. A few light taps and it walks right out!

Thank you. Right to left or left to right drift?

Tarbe is correct in that #1s can be a little fussy at first when they warm up. Do settle on your load and then practice a lot. Then when barrel is cold fire your last three rounds to finalize the zero on the scope. The rifle will do the rest of the work.
My 300 win has downed 13 plains game animals and countless American white tail deer. I set it up years ago with Winchester ammo and just fine tune it now with about four rounds when I get to a hunting destination. They are great rifles!

I have been using a "Personal Property" rider on my State Farm homeowner's policy to cover guns when I travel with them.
I have several firearms, but only one is worth over $20K (A Heym double rifle).
Very interested.
Would firearms be covered for damage, as well as, complete loss?
I'll can let the State Farm rider cover my watches...

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.
