Big thanks to @Hunter-Habib for starting this thread, because it's been a long four years my friend. Appreciate you thinking of us. I raise a glass to you. Cheers.
@BeeMaa
Does that mean you are getting rid of your continental Barbie rife and buying a nice made in the USA again.
Nah me thinks not. You love Barbie to much.

View attachment 645640Savage model 99 in 308 wearing a Leoupold 3x9. Doesn’t get much more American than that.

What about the Savage 110 or the quintessential
Winchester 85 lo and hi walls. Simply and elegance

Savage110,
Simple, easy to make, dependable and accurate. Came out in 1958.
Winches 85 single shot
Simple, reliable, accurate and pure class.
Designed for the hunter.

Would have to agree with the winchester 85. While the savage 110 is a fine rifle I don’t feel it rises to the level of iconic.

May not be iconic but used then Henry Ford principal of simple mass production and produced a rifle that is easy to make and assemble. Just dang accurate to go with it. Even the likes of Remington and Ruger are using the barrel nut to simplify and reduce production cos.

Yes the action isn't pretty with that big baffle at the back and the bolt lug baffles but I've never seen a Savage that won't shoot well straight from the box.
Iconic, not yet, good looking, definitely not. Accurate and dependable definitely.
Dang you could even train a monkey to do a barrel swap it's that easy

Great thread!

Kleingunther K15 model in 7mm Remington Magnum. My Dad gave me this rifle for Christmas in 1982, so it’ll always stay in the family.
