Man that second picture he looks huge. You will be living the dream my friend. I wouldn't be able to sleep if I was within 20 days of going leopard hunting. You are going to have an amazing trip.
What makes you think I'm sleeping? Lol. I just hope we can keep him around for several more weeks. He looks like a big Tom. What really excites me is that he's in the daylight. Keeping my fingers crossed! Love to put him in the salt early on so I can hunt some plains game.Man that second picture he looks huge. You will be living the dream my friend. Good luck brother! That's great. Love to see some pictures once you have them. When you leaving?Good luck Johnny! I'm rootin' for ya man!
I'm fighting the same departure-day-itis... Getting down to just a couple weeks and as of a few days ago I've added leopard to my hunt as well. PH is going to start baiting immediately. Hopefully I get a cat on film soon too
Thanks Bruce. Things are looking good so far. Let's hope the hunting gods are kind to me.Nice looking cat. I'd say with all of this pre-baiting things have a very good chance of going well. First trip........ Good for you and best of luck. Bruce
Who and were you hunting?Headed out on the DL 200 on the 25th. I'll share 'em if I get some pics. Fingers crossed.
Lioness and leopard not to shabby . I'm sure you are going to have a blast. I'm hunting with Schoenfeld safaris sister operation in Otavi. It's run by there son Stephan and called Okapunja safaris. If I put a leopard in the salt early I want to also hunt kudu, eland, hartebeest, hartsman zebra and steinbok to mount with my leopard. I too will be looking forward to your report and pictures. Best of luck to both of us! Lol.Johnny,
For the Leopard I'm hunting Limpopo, S.A. with Numzaan. Jean-Louis is my PH.
Will also be hunting Lioness in the Northwest Province.
This has largely turned into a cat safari for me. Not exactly because that is what I set out to do, but that's just the way things evolved and I'm extremely happy and excited about it. Two of my other main focus and priority anmals are Serval and Caracal.
Thank you for asking, I don't want to hijack the thread
I know you are hunting Namibia, but I don't recall who you'll be hunting with?
I will be watching for the hunt report and keeping my fingers crossed for you! Maybe even doing the Leopard dance
What the hell, I can't sleep anyway
12 days to go. Getting harder to sleep.....
That's funny. LolYou can sleep in October.
Great pictures Simon...My biggest concern is proper shot placement while the cat is on bait angles etc.....Goodluck @johnnyblues , I bet the wait is killing you now, I am sure you will have a great hunt, we just flew back from Mozambique last night....here are some pics to get your appetite running...View attachment 47192 View attachment 47193
Oh really...I thought just behind the shoulder...If the blind is placed properly, he should be standing side on to the blind, put it center in the shoulder. Trust your ph and all should go perfectly.
