Leopard Pictures

They are about 15 years old now so time and dust got the best of them.

IT SEEMS That THE FOLLOWING CLOUDED LEOPARDS ARE NOR 'REAL' LEOPARDS OR EVEN A SUB-SPECIES,BUT IN A WHOLE OTHER CLASS OF THEIR OWN!
Any vet,biologist etc. out there?

First Tom for the season with a total of 170hours + in the blind this was the reward, 2 more to come from Mozambique, will keep you guys updated.

My best always
Jaco, you are obviously an authority on leopard hunting. What do you feel is the best shot to take on a leopard? High shoulder ?, or behind the shoulder heart/lung region. I know this is an old thread but hoping you can give me some insight, as you know I ll be hunting them soon. Thanks. Johnnyblues.

johnnyblues, I would shoot for the lungs. If you miss this target exactly, you will probably be alright, but mess up the high shoulder shot and you are most likely going to have problems. A animal can not live if it can't breath;)

Yes sir I agree. There are some good pictures on shot placement on the site. I've studied them and agree if I split the body in half and hold just behind the shoulder very similarly as shooting a whitetail I should catch lungs and possibly the top of the heart.

Another Great Cat for Spear Safaris. We managed to secure a standby Leopard Tag in Limpopo and Ray was the taker on the Hunt. Ray was lucky enough to bag this great Old Tom during the safari. Well done Ray.

Good Morning x84958
I have read your post about Jamy Traut and your hunt in Caprivi. I am planning such a hunt for 2026, Oct with Jamy.
Just a question , because I will combine Caprivi and Panorama for PG, is the daily rate the same the week long, I mean the one for Caprivi or when in Panorama it will be a PG rate ?
thank you and congrats for your story.
Best regards
Philippe from France

Hello Doug,
I am Philippe from France and plan to go hunting Caprivi in 2026, Oct.
I have read on AH you had some time in Vic Falls after hunting. May I ask you with whom you have planned / organized the Chobe NP tour and the different visits. (with my GF we will have 4 days and 3 nights there)
Thank in advance, I will appreciate your response.
Merci
Philippe
