I know this may seem like one of the craziest questions maybe posted on this website but I must ask. I know there are people in africa who does leather crafting but as far as hides and skins go, it's not uncommon for someone here in the states to find a DEAD snake and use the skin on thier projects, do the guys over there do the same, im asking because I got the idea of a mamba skin hat band, are those exotic types of snake skins legal to ship and is that type of stuff frowned upon in africa

I mean if someone is on a hunt and I know it may be a rare occurrence due the season being colder and they kill one would that be something that could be exported be it a mamba, boomerang, rock python etc

Actually never thought of that but a very cool idea…imagine the fun explaining that to whoever asks…”not your daddy’s rattle snake”

you might give a call to Coppersmiths or Trophy Shippers and see what they say

Typically reptiles and birds are more highly regulated than sport hunted quadrapeds, upland birds, and waterfowl.

The general statments on this thread about killing snakes when they see them is terrible legal advice. Under what premise does someone think they can kill a venomous snake absent a lawful permit to do so? What makes them think they can convert that illegally killed animal into a product that is lawful?

Answer: You can't.

Playing around with venomous snakes is generally a stupid idea. One of the best PH's in Africa was quite adept at doing just that until he got bit doing it for a show-and-tell. It nearly cost him his life. Walk around them.

Here we are, the last day of the show in Denver, it's been a good show but expecting a quiet day today. I will be back for-sure to do this show next year and maybe also do the one in Sacramento California.

On Monday I will be hitting the road driving from Denver and eventually make it down to Atlanta for the flight home.

its going to be a good year!

Hi Rem280, Saw your post on getting selected for Idaho Elk. Do you have a zone(s) selected? I live in N Idaho, might be able to offer some ideas.

Cheers,

Craig
