Kalahari hunting in Botswana?

There are some huge private farms in Bots. The place I go, and going again this Aug, is in the Tuli block about 2 hrs N of Gaborone. 250K is acres with hunting rights to another 150K adjoining on the N side. The quantity of PG there is astounding. All self sustaining herds.

I was there with a friend and I just hunted in the mornings for 10- days and then in the truck with my friend in the afternoon as an extra set of eyes. In those 10 half days I took 38 head of only management Impala and blue w/b. My friend ended up taking either the biggest or second biggest waterbuck taken in the country last year. I'm heading back again this August with a guy who's been there before with me. Happy to have one two more tag along.

The Bots govt consessions do have some limited quantity of PG. The issue is the govt for some reason includes very very few head in the concession tenders. So even if you're in the govt consessions and see PG it doesn't mean you can shoot any of it.

Yes, and you have to buy the tag ahead of time. The system for PG on the government concessions leaves a lot to be desired.

Thanks for the article. I did read it. I think maybe Larry conflated the Namib Desert NP with the Naukluft NP and the Naukluft area in general. He wrote as if they were the same and they are not. He's writing about several different places within the Namib Desert which is the western most part of the Kalahari near/along the Skeleton Coast. While anything is possible in Africa, to have a hunting permit within the confines of the actual Naukluft NP would be highly unusual especially considering the way the govt restricts even general access there.
Old Nuclear base before Apartheid was ended. Walvis bay.

Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks
Mike
hi, do you know about lions hunters, leopard hunters, and crocodiles hunters of years 1930s-1950s
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
