To all who have been following my ordeal with Justin. I just received an email from Justin, and he said a check is in the mail for the money I sent him plus the additional fee's. He also said that he is sending me a 30-06 barrel that is close to what I initially ordered, for the incovenience at no charge. According to Justin, he sent the barrel, and did not realize I never received it, or he would have fixed this sooner. I am satisfied with Justins actions on making this issue "Right", and will repeat this info on all other sites where this issue has been discussed.

good deal. They make good barrels I hope their customer service gets better.

With all that you have been through with J Sip, would you order another barrel from him? Has he regained your trust enough for that or would it come with stipulations like no deposit until the item is shipped?

First thing is to see if I get the money and barrel in a timely manner, and then to inspect and test/shoot the barrel.

I’m looking for a 28 nosler barrel for my r8 let me know if he actually sends you the free barrel and money back. Has anybody else had any dealings with him lately?

I received the check and barrel today, the barrel looks little used but in good condition. The fit and finish look good. I will try and test/shoot the barrel this weekend. If you do not here any more from me, that means all is good.

I was anxious to test this barrel so I took the morning off from work. Today I attached the barrel on my stock so I could test the barrel for accuracy. On 4 factory barrels and one Elmers barrel, tightening the captured nut on the stock that attaches the barrel usually takes 10 to 12 half turns with no resistance, bottoms out, give a little extra torque and all is tight. The problem with this barrel: tightening the top captured nut (closest to the front of barrel) started feeling resistance after about 6 half turns, resistance increased until it bottomed out, then I gave a little extra torque as usual to tighten. The bottom captured nut (closest to the action) had resistance after about 2 half turns and felt increasing resistance from that point on (felt like the threads were not lining up properly, I gave about 6 half turns. I removed the barrel and checked the threads on the barrel and they looked good. I repeated the process, and with increasing resistance bottomed out after about 12 half turns, and gave a little extra torque as usual to tighten. Upon removing the barrel the bottom barrel screw stayed attached to the captured nut in the stock. Now I am hoping the threads on the stock captured nut are not stripped. I sent an email to Justin and now waiting on a response.

I appreciate you documenting the entire process, but what a PITA. Chin up and march on. Hope it works out.

I removed the barrel screw/stud by holding the end with vise grips. I attached a facory Blaser barrel with no problems to the stock so it looks like stock captured nut is not stripped. Justin is sending me another barrel screw/stud to attach to the barrel. I will keep everyone informed on how this progresses.

Got the stud, installed it, loctited it, and waited 24 hours. I attached the barrel, and even though you could feel some tension while tightening compared to almost nothing on a Blaser barrel, it was not enough to be a concern. My guess is there must have been some bad threads on the previous stud. So, looks like all is good for now, I will keep updating if the are any other issues.
