New to me anyway. Here is the just purchased 2009 vintage Ruger .416 Rigby. Got a good snag on a little ammo, brass and dies from the same GB seller, it all came today and I also got a snag on some Hornady old style 400 gr bullets off GB, should be here tomorrow. Rifle is about 98 percent condition and the seller offered to dicker when I asked a couple questions about it. Got a good deal on it. Scope is mine off another rifle.

Right on! Love the RSM's. @ActionBob got me obsessed with them and I'm glad he did. The RSM is a seriously underrated rifle, I believe the 416 is as close to perfect in weight for caliber as you can get as they are so pleasant to shoot. Since I got my RSM 416 I've been thinking of selling my CZ(or cutting it down and making a bush rifle out of it).
Congratulations, now you can start looking for one in 375 so she isn't lonely!
Cheers,
Cody

Very nice!

I have its little brother in .338 Win to keep it company. This one has the 23 inch bbl. Some were 24 I guess, wonder why not all the same? This is the 750- series.

Congrats on a fine new addition! You're not going to hate that at all (y) As Bullthrower mentioned, the .416 seems like the perfect chambering for the RSM. Mine loves those 400 gr Hornady RN's. I believe the Gen 1 had a 24" barrel and a barrel band set back in the fore end. Later generations were shortened to 23", a smart move in my opinion - they're nose heavy enough already, and the barrel band placed where it belongs. Yours sounds like a very late production model.
Have fun and good shooting :)

Yes, made 2009 and I much prefer the barrel band on the barrel as this is, and it seems to balance pretty well. I always wanted a .416 but then got a couple different .404's and sort of forgot about them, then started haunting GB and other sites and found this one for a good price and figured oh what the hey, buy it!

Nice pick-up Ses.

What does it weigh ?

Might need to get some extra denture glue ???????

LOL, with the scope on about 10 lbs. Don't have dentures yet but might rattle my one crown.:D I do wish that Ruger would recognize that these big rifles have noticeable recoil:eek: and put a decent pad on them! Honestly.

Lovely looking rifle, changing the recoil pad won't be difficult. If I didn't have a .404 I would have a .416 Rigby.

No, its not hard to do, just shouldn't have to. Ruger puts the same pad on everything, no matter a .223 or a .458 Lott! I have both a .404 and now the Rigby. Cant have too many big bores right? Well, medium bore anyway.

Congratulations, you now own what is most likely the finest .416 Rigby available anywhere in the RSM s price range!

I have one in 416 Rigby also (y) and put a limb saver on it. REALLY tames the recoil

Very nice, congrats! A little jealous here

Nice rifle for sure!

Great Find

Good find... nice snag. Congratulations!!! Little bite of tangent. If vacillating between 404, 416 & 458..... splitting hairs? Not to hijack.... very curious & interested!

Had an excellent classifieds transaction with JoninCO. A truly honest and standup member. I wouldn't hesitate at all to deal with him again. Thanks, J!

Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks
Mike
hi, do you know about lions hunters, leopard hunters, and crocodiles hunters of years 1930s-1950s
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
