I think some of the immigration officials in these corrupt countries Zambia, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Tanzania, Egypt and Rwanda where we sells his tours need to know what Michael is saying about them. Perhaps they can help him review his disparaging comments about their character from a little room.

I would think one easy approach would be to forward a copy of the article to the embassy of each of these countries in Ottawa or Washington (or whatever your capital city might be), with a cover letter asking if this is true about the particular country.

Since many of these countries require visas to visit or business licenses to operate, it's pretty easy for a country to put someone on a no-go list.

In other words, what happens if this guy ignores the judgment or who defines what is derogatory?

I know nothing about Canadian law, so I'm not sure now to interpret.

On the surface it seems positive though.

In his summation, the Judge states that if Donovan is brought Bach he my we'll be face a permanent injunction.

Dave, first, it helps to take a deep breath.

Secondly, I included what the Herald printed to show what was being said. I don't vouch for the Herald or any other newspaper. I'm not sure what's 'unhelpful' about letting others see what the local media is saying.

Thirdly, I have a law degree (and a QC, if that helps). I know what you were asking for, not only from your materials, but from what I got from the emails I received.

Lastly, I'm not being critical. I applaud you for trying to do something. I just don't think you will ever get an injunction barring someone from expressing their views. Yes, Mr. Donovan has to be a bit nicer about what he says, but it doesn't require him to be nice, or even to stop lying. I heard him on the radio today and he expressed the same tired old lines about trophy hunting, and I'm sure none of what I heard would cause him any problems. And the protesters were apparently still there (unfortunately, I was unable to go this year - first one I've missed).

I could argue that allowing him to make the most outrageous statements actually helps the cause of hunters - it clearly marginalizes him. Now, he has to at least have the semblance of reasonableness. Is that helpful? I'm not sure.

But let me add this. I'd be happy to have a reasonable conversation with you. But you won't get me to the annual dinner by attacking me. Sorry.

I bet most here would benefit from a description of what you folks put together so they can understand the success better. Most will not necessarily have these court documents you list. How about a short description for the troops on AH? That would really help!

Back to the matter at hand. Will SCI help disseminating Donovan's slanderous statements to the appropriate foreign governments? Our legal system all but ensures that 1. it will cost a lot of money 2. take a lot of time 3. we won't be treated equitably.

Brick and Hank are right on the money on this one. Those countries aren't subject to our legal system and Donovan could be put out of business overnight

Apparently, the Anti's managed a 2 hour permit to spew on the boulevard.

Interestingly, at least to me, the news coverage brought in a bunch of interested people who had not heard of the event before they saw the news broadcast..

Sounds like the event folks were happy with the turn out and were quite busy. Much busier than the year of the slow down.
Hats off to Delta Hotels for the polite service staff. Thanks for the complimentary water I was provided when I asked if they had a store where I might buy a drink. It's the small things in the service industry that stick.
