JKO HUNTING SAFARIS Hunting Season 2021

If you are looking to hunt buffalo in South Africa or Africa in general, be sure to contact us at JKO Hunting Safaris.

Here is another prime example of the quality of buffalo we hunt. We do not settle for anything less than proper old buffalo bull trophies.

We had a busy couple of months and I have fallen behind on uploading some of the trophies taken....

At first I looked at this bull and thought he was a younger bull due to the absence of the tuff, we decided to stalk closer and after looking at the horns and the ridges from closer I realized this is a old bull and as our hunter were only doing a skull mount we decided to take this beautiful eland bull.

Another great lion, we tracked this lion for couple of hours finding him where he had a kill, a nice sable bull.... He immediately made his stand and due to the thick cover the hunt got really intense but our hunter ended up making a perfect shot at around 22 yards.

Beautiful eland bull also in our Kalahari hunting area....

Unique looking Gemsbuck hunted in JKO Hunting Safaris, Kalahari Area.

Beautiful Nyala bull, we hunted hard for this bull!

IMG_3591.jpg

Big warthog taken in one of our North West concessions only 2 hours from the airport....

We also had a short but great safari in our Nothern Cape area where we took some excellent trophies in a short amount of time...

We pride ourselves in taking only old and mature buffalo, too many young buffalo are being shot at reduced pricing in South Africa at the moment and I personally believe not to be part of that.... Old buffalo has character and attitude!

Conservation at its best, taking this very old rhino bull ensure the owners of these magnificent animals receive the necessary funds to keep on protecting the rhino. What a privilege to be able to contribute towards such an iconic specie in Africa.

What an old Sable bull stretching the tape to just under 44"....

On our way back to camp we had to stop and have a couple of cold beers after a successful day out hunting....

More top quality trophies produced by JKO Hunting Safaris... We love hunting larger areas and more so we love managing them properly so we can sustain quality trophies for our hunters time after time... Look at this big buffalo bull taken with us recently.

Big waterbuck bull taken in our Free State area.

Dear friend from TX with his big Blue Wildebeest and our Roxy....

Another big Waterbuck bull taken in our Free state area, hunting with JKO Hunting Safaris.

We took this ancient sable after passing up on a younger bull that would have probably measured longer. We manage our areas and will not allow hunters to take animals that is not old or big enough. The younger bull will spread his genes so we can hunt more big sable in the future!

IMG_2767.jpg

Old Red Hartebeest taken out of a herd of probably 40 bulls together, not easy to get close to that many eyes in open country...
IMG_2805.jpg

Big Common Springbuck taken in the same day, we were actually looking for Black Wildebeest or Blesbuck and while we were stalking this ram showed up so we decided to take him to the skinning shed. That is the beauty of hunting game rich and well managed areas, a lot of opportunities!
IMG_2824.jpg

One of the bigger blesbuck I have taken in a while with a hunter, it stretched the tape to just under 18"...
IMG_2856.jpg

Beautiful Zebra, we chased them around for a couple of days until we had a shot opportunity which our hunter made the most off. Long shot with a 375 but if you know your rifle it can be done!

Leopard bait going up, the amount of leopard in our area in Uganda is astounding. Shots are close, usually around 50 to 60yards maximum. Unfortunately leopard from Uganda can only be exported to a handful of countries.

Not the best picture but 2 days after putting up our bait, a nice old leopard tom is in the salt.

Our hunters also connected with this beautiful Sitatunga, one of my personal favorite animals!

Chopped up the whole thing as I kept hitting the 240 character limit...

2,822fps, ES 8.2
This compares favorably to 7 Rem Mag. with less powder & recoil.

{You will want a 1:8.5 to run the heavies but can get away with a 1:9}

I know that this thread is more than a year old but as a new member I thought I would pass along my .280AI loading.
I am shooting F Open long range rather than hunting but here is what is working for me and I have managed a 198.14 at 800 meters.
That is for 20 shots. The 14 are X's which is a 5" circle.
