Looking to get my model 70 Rebored to 35 Whelen, it’s a classic sporter and I’d rather keep the factory Winchester nomenclature than rebarrel it.
I’m curious if anyone has pictures of how to go about the caliber designation.
I’ve read elsewhere that guys have sanded off the factory designation, it gets re stamped and then just touched up with cold bluing.
If anyone has pictures of this I’d love to see them.
Thanks

I don't have pictures, but I have seen it done several ways, some not so good..dremel to grind, then electric graver with new one, xxxxx, then stamped new one. On the good side, filed and polished off and new one engraved in, small end mill machined flat and new stamped in. Their are several ways to skin the cat, just depends. I haven't seen one from JES though.

Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks
Mike
hi, do you know about lions hunters, leopard hunters, and crocodiles hunters of years 1930s-1950s
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
