Just took delivery of my long awaited 450 Rigby. I could have used any action, but I chose a CZ550 purchased from member @krish, still in the factory box.

Jeweled bolt works smooth as silk. Scope is the Swaro Z8i .75-6x20.

I think we made a good choice on the stock blank here on AH a year and a half ago. ;)

Ready for any Cape Buffalo that come rooting around in my Beanfield.

Also ordered plenty of Jerrett ammo to go with the rifle. Swift AFrames at just over 2400fps and Barnes X at just over 2500fps.

Groups are certainly better than minute of Hippo.

Looks great. Did it start off as a 450 Rigby? What all did you have done to it? I’m surprised you didn’t have the trigger replaced?

It was a bare receiver still in the small factory box. It had never been built into a rifle, but was labeled 416 Rigby.

I talked to Kenny Jerrett about a 450 Rigby, and he was very enthusiastic about the project. Kenny had been instrumental in creating the 450 Rigby, along with Paul Roberts who owned Rigby at the time.

I laid out the basic specs in the rifle I wanted and they made it happen. :D

@skydiver386 - Congratulations on a beautiful rifle in a very capable cartridge. Love the timber too.

Reminds me of the pieces turned out by Wayne (AHR) with an upgrade #3 or one of his full customs.

Yes, sure does, even more so if the bolt handle was bent and knob filled.
Very nice job.

Skydiver386, that is a nice-looking package in a very capable caliber. Enjoy using it. I have a 6.5 X 55 Swedish Mauser that was sporterized by one of Jarret's gunsmiths. It shoots because it is a Swede but it is a lot fancier.

I apologize on not commending Kenny and the boys on accuracy as well. ;-). Great stuff.

Now that is a great looking rifle, and accurate to boot! Makes me want to build one using a couple blanks I've been setting on for years. Sure is a nice piece of wood. I have a 338 RUM that Jarrett built years ago and it is a tack driver too with A-frames.

I didn't see your request re: ship co’s. My last shipment was 2023. Quotes from SBS Logistics ($1,198), Badger Cargo ($1,184 - used them) & AHG Trophy Shippers ($1,746). AHG owner's an asshole so wouldn't have used him anyway. Eastern Cape - Houston, TX, so your mileage may vary. NEVER use Karl Human Taxidermy aka Wild Africa Taxidermy on Eastern Cape. Trophies arrived shattered with no padding/packing material.
