Jay just sent some pictures of stock blanks to choose from. I picked the one on the far left. I usually love dark, dark walnut, but those almost black streaks through that blank say "Africa".

Going to be an awesome build. For a reminder to others, this is going to be on a 550 action.

Gorgeous wood. My favorites are the far left (nice choice!) and second from right, though they are all beautiful. Congrats.

From looking at just this one side of the blanks, I think you made a wise choice. Both of the leftmost ones seem to have the correct grain orientation.

Looking at them purely from an aesthetic point of view, I would probably go for either of the two on the right. But they may not be the best suited for a heavy hitter.

You will have a gorgeous looking rifle.

Other than the timber, what else have you specified? LOP, barrel length, sights…etc.

CZ 550 Safari Magnum Action
450 Rigby caliber
24 inch barrel
14.25 LOP
Barrel band front sling
2X Recoil reducers in the butt stock
10.5 pounds

Have yet to choose sights, checkering, and optics. Leaning towards a Leupold VX5 1-5.

From a strength perspective, I think the second from the left is the best chunk for a rifle stock... it is pretty too. I'm sure they will all be nice in the end. The VX-5 is a good choice for scope, they are very nice. Should be a beautiful rifle... will be nice to see it posed with a Cape and 60"+ kudu.

Jerome, do you think my last post in rough camping must maybe shift as an article?

Good afternoon,

I'm trying to get in contact with Mr Butch Searcy. I have the opportunity to buy one of his rifles chambered in 577 nitro Express however the seller does not have any of the paperwork with the information about what ammunition or bullet weight was used to regulate it. I know he is not making firearms anymore but I wanted to reach out after seeing one of your post about him.

Hi - the only (best) method of sending you the .375/06IMP data is with photographing my book notes. My camera died so the only way I can do it is with my phone. To do that, I would need your e-mail address, as this
new Android phone is too complicated to upload to my desk computer, which would be easier and to down-grade, reduce the file sizes.
Best wishes
Daryl
