350 Rigby

I was fortunate enough to putchase this rifle a couplevof years ago. I hope you enjoy it.

I have always had deep admiration for the .350 Rigby Magnum—there’s something timeless about it, the classic lines remind me of a different era, when rifles were made with care and purpose. Whether it’s resting in my hands or out in the field, it gives me a sense of connection to the great hunters and gunmakers of the past. It’s more than just a rifle—it’s a trusted companion and a piece of heritage.

The square bridge pre-war .350 Rigby Magnum is a distinguished and historically significant bolt-action rifle, revered by hunters and collectors alike. Built on a robust Mauser action, the “square bridge” refers to the flat, squared-off receiver bridges designed to accommodate the secure mounting of optics—an advanced feature for its time. Introduced in the early 20th century, this rifle was often favored by professional hunters and explorers for its reliability and powerful performance in the African bush and Indian jungles. The .350 Rigby Magnum cartridge, known for its flat trajectory and substantial stopping power, made it ideal for medium to large game. Pre-war models, crafted with exceptional attention to detail and quality by Rigby in London, are especially prized today for their craftsmanship, historical value, and enduring functionality.

Very beautiful rifle, thanks a lot for sharing it!

Nothing compares to the rifles and guns made in the pre-war period. Rigby’s in particular. Nice find. I hope you will take it to Africa and shoot something worthy. Maybe a tracking Eland hunt. Or a Kudu during the rut. Baited lion perhaps. I don’t have the rifle, but I do have many ideas about how to use it!

As someone who will probably never own more than 1 rigby rifle…

Please post more, since I can’t afford that sort of thing my only way of enjoying them is from pics and stories of them on the inter webs. Post post post!

I am just realizing it has the slide-on sight hood. You don't see that around every corner.

Do you know what year it was made?

Keep posting them up
