ITALY: Italian Safari

Sounds amazing. I hope to visit Italy one day. Probably for the food and anything else will be a bonus.
Spaghetti, Salami, Cheese and Olives are among my favourites.

Congrats on a great experience :D Cheers:

Thanks for sharing your experience. These kind of mixed hunting/tourist trips appeal to me more all the time. That boat is a beast!
I remember back in the late 70s and early 80s when I was a kid, some cattlemen started importing chianina into our area. They quickly earned the reputation that there wasn’t a fence that could keep them in!

2027 we have a tentative date for this exact safari. Is this with Italian safaris? I would love to know the name of the shop if you have time to PM me. It’s not hard to talk the wife into this trip. Thanks for sharing.

Congratulations! Looks like a great adventure with excellent food/drinks!

This was with Italian Safaris. We booked with Leoni. The shop is owned by our very own @Phil Giordano. I suggest you PM directly with him on the particulars. It is not far from the Vatican.

I suspect that if you show your wife these pics she will be 100% on board!

I know that many Italians who settled here in Australia before I was born still had a hunting culture that probably makes up part of who we are.
I know people hunt in European countries too but had not considered Italy as a Safari destination.
My Great Grandmother had Italian parents . She used to come out bush with us when u was a kid. I remember one night we got the first rabbit she said ok we have mine we can go home now. I’m sure she was joking as we got a few more before we turned back.
As for me I’m waiting on winter again so I can make some home made salami just like the Italians do who carry on the family tradition here.

You and your wife certainly did this one up the right way! Congratulations on both the boar and the roe deer.

Nugget here. A guide gave me the nickname as I looked similar to Nugent at the time. Hunting for over 50 years yet I am new to hunting in another country and its inherent game species. I plan to do archery. I have not yet ruled out the long iron as a tag-along for a stalk. I am still deciding on a short list of game. Not a marksman but better than average with powder and string.
