Hi all, just received my crate from a Mozambique hunt in 2022 of Friday, just a question re the cracking in the boss and Nyala horns. Is this normal or has it been over done at the treatment stage. This is my first buffalo so new to the process and what to expect.

I think if you look closely at your pics when u hunted them those cracks were there
In the drying over last 2 years the cracks will surely open a little so become more visible

Adds character, but you can fill them carefully with soft bees wax coloured to match if you are concerned.

Welldone on a very nice buff !
Like Kevin said....caracter and the actual hunt and memories to me is crucial. It is like an old well worn cap or a LandCruiser with the adventure scars of hunts and campfire stories.
Rather have caracter than a trophy geneticly manupilated and bred with wide horns and the ego boosting measurements.

You did well, keep the trophy moisturized with your oil mix.

...

That's normal, a lot changes as it dries and some also maybe continues to change over the years. My oldest buffalo trophies are around 30 years old, some look about the same as they did originally, others have changed slightly. That's due to different factors, but it's not that important when it comes mainly to hunting and remembering to it.

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.
Ready for the hunt with HTK Safaris

Hello:
I’ll take the .375 Whitworth for $1,150 if the deal falls through.
Thanks .
