If it breathes, a .375 Holland & Holland Magnum can take it down. Believe me. I’ve been doing it since 1974.

The question isn’t if you should buy a .375 Holland & Holland Magnum. The question is which .375 Holland & Holland Magnum rifle should you buy. And in my humble opinion, nothing trumps a BRNO ZKK602 if you can manage to find a second hand one in good condition. Especially an earlier model with the folding diopter.

I didn't need a 375 H&H as I was planning only one safari for PG but I went and bought one anyway. Took it for my first and second safari for PG, used it more often than either my 7mm or 300 Win. Then my 3rd safari happened this time for Cape Buffalo. I was ready. I didn't need it but I have sure used it. Didn't need to buy a 416 Rigby either but bought one after my first DG safari. What the hell you only go around once you might as well enjoy it. Good luck

GET ONE!!!!

Look, as basically everyone here is telling you, it will be worth it somewhere down the line. It's also not money down the drain, you can always sell it the future to upgrade to a 460 maybe, or whatever you would like to get into at that stage....

I was just offered a 1929 single square bridge Rigby .375H&H rebored .350 Mag. by? Rigby documented, something really strange barrel stamped as one word NOTENGLANDMAKE.

The rifle is in Zimbabwe as this time. I have nothing to do with it I have its twin sister rebored from .350 Mag to .404J.

I was sent a bunch of pictures, but do not know how to post. Rigby has valued it at 7,500.00 pounds to !0,500. Evidently it has some history.

I think that present status of the poll is:

100 % - buy 375
0 % - don't buy 375

:-)

I’ve seen that exact stamping before in Nairobi, Kenya in 1974 … on a B.S.A. Majestic rifle which had been rebarrelled from .243 Winchester to .308 Winchester. The conversion was carried out by Kenya Bunduki.

Buy it. I own a 22 LR, AR15 in 223, 7mm-08, 30-06, 375 H&H, 404J and a 20 gauge shotgun. I only own to go hunting. Due to my multitude of interests, I only hunt every few years. I wouldn't sell any of them. Buy the 375, show us pictures and start enjoying it. Build out the battery for when the zombie apocalypse comes your way!

Asking yourself if you need a 375? Answer Yes
Because _________ _________ __________ __________.
You get to fill in the blanks, you know the answer.

both the rem and cz offer a few differences, cz 550, crf-more rounds-heavier-good sights-ex set trigger, adjustable regular trigger-easy scope mounting . rem 700, good sights-lighter- good adjustable trigger-easy scope mounting-pf-less rounds. both rifles were and are very good rifles i would feel well armed hunting DG.

I’ve hunted with a 30-06 my whole life. My .375 is a light M70 Alaskan and even at that I found that starting out with 270gr was was very manageable after throwing 180gr and heavier through the 30-06. Then it was really nothing to move to 300gr.
Go get one. ;)
What’s worst case? If you decide against it later, it won’t last 15 minutes in the classifieds on here. :giggle:

After joining AH, I realized I needed a .375HH, although already owned 375 Ruger. Taking to PG hunt in August. Do it!

Buy one and you won't regret it. I prefer the .375 H and H because I have the cases and it's offspring in various cartridges. However, I believe the .375 Ruger is a more "efficient" cartridge in shorter barreled rifles. I haven't hunted with mine yet, but it doesn't matter as I enjoy shooting it and reloading for it. I am considering using mine for my next elk hunt just for variety. The recoil is actually slightly more pleasant than my .338WM. If you can shoot a .30-06, you can learn to shoot a .375.

Jerome, do you think my last post in rough camping must maybe shift as an article?

Good afternoon,

I'm trying to get in contact with Mr Butch Searcy. I have the opportunity to buy one of his rifles chambered in 577 nitro Express however the seller does not have any of the paperwork with the information about what ammunition or bullet weight was used to regulate it. I know he is not making firearms anymore but I wanted to reach out after seeing one of your post about him.

Hi - the only (best) method of sending you the .375/06IMP data is with photographing my book notes. My camera died so the only way I can do it is with my phone. To do that, I would need your e-mail address, as this
new Android phone is too complicated to upload to my desk computer, which would be easier and to down-grade, reduce the file sizes.
Best wishes
Daryl
