Is it currently safe to take a Limpopo safari?

I hunted in Limpopo province last month. Flew into Jo'burg and was met by PH who drove us from Jo'Burg to Kruger Park for a couple of days then on to the hunting camp on the Limpopo river border with Botswana. No issues as all. Overnighted at Jo'Burg airport on the way home. Reports of riots and looting in the suburbs and in other provinces but not in Limpopo. You should be ok if you can sort out what's going on with your outfitter.

I forgot to mention that I was in Limpopo, Zululand and the Free State in June. No issues at all. There were rolling blackouts, but that was just a minor inconvenience. I would go back next month in a heart beat...... if I could afford to go back.

I would kindly accept his offer to postpose to next year and move along. It does not sound like you are out anything if you don't hunt with him and If he doesn't want you there you really don't want to hunt with him anyway. You have your second hunt planned, so go have fun.

................
“At this point I am going to ask that we postpone the hunt till next year, we have had a power plant close to us explode and we have been warned against attacks on all our key points in the country.
All this due to imprisonment of our previous president.
Several workers at the lodge we use are going through covid etc too. And one of the landowners has just passed away too due to covid.”
....

Unfortunately, I am unable to reschedule my hunt to next year.

That is an excellent response.

Wayne has the ability to say :S Censored: off and die and sound like he regrets not being able to come, doesn't he?

This is just one more problem with a hunt that was won at __________ you fill in the blank area with any group or organization that you want.

I came back from Limpopo July 14. There was unrest in JoBerg but things have calmed down to almost nothing. They are at a Level 4 for Covid19. I believe your PH is trying to cancel because something is wrong at his end he is not telling you. I would press him and get to the bottom of his tales.

Now that we know something clearly isn't on the up and up. Perhaps you'd you willing to share who this donated hunt was purchased through?

It really seems like asking the largest collection of African hunters anyone is every going to find would be far more fruitful if providing the outfitter's name? There is a 100% chance multiple members have interacted with this outfitter at some point.

That…

It will be much easier making the guy squirm than getting into a straight up “Call BS” discussion immediately. Maybe, if the guy were being honest it will go a bit better.
