I booked my trip with Bushman's Quiver starting at the end of September into the first few days of October. Wondering if anyone from AF will be there during that time frame. As of right now, I'll be going there solo. Lastly, can you be sure to post reports of your hunts with BQ throughout the year? We'll be in their East Cape property. Thanks!

Bumping up. Anybody?

Flying out next week for 10 days in the Eastern Cape. Will be happy to get you some info and photos once we get back to the States!
I'd appreciate your input. Several friends have hunted at the BQ Limpopo concession, but info on their EC area would be great. Thank you and hope you have a safe and successful experience. Curious to what game you are hunting.

I appreciate the kind words. The trip is a big group of my family and some friends. Its my first trip to the Dark Continent so I'm keeping it pretty vanilla when it comes to the game I'm after. Looking for a nice gemsbok bull, a impala, a wildebeest, and still up in the air about a fourth choice. My uncle and cousins are after the kitchen sink of plains game. I've heard them say they all want a big kudu and some of them are looking for a red lechwe, but my uncle is particularly after a sable. I'll take tons of photos and videos and get you as much info as I can from my experience. Not sure if you've ever worked with BQ, but Patrick has been phenomenal to work with. Always finds a time for a phone call to talk any questions over.

Also any game that you think would be good additions as my fourth animal would be much appreciated. I am a college student so I'm on a pretty tight budget lol, but willing to be flexible with how much I'm spending because the trip is so special for me.

On a budget, maybe a nice warthog, zebra, or springbok. Kudu are beautiful critters. I did a European mount for gemsbok, but wish I'd gone with a shoulder mount. I've never spoken with Patrick, only Stephan, his wife and daughters, and PH Andrew. Each one is just warm and endearing. I'm champing at the bit to go. That first trip is so special so be sure to take a journal for good notes. When I went to Botswana in 2023, my wife said to get it out of my system. That's not how it works. I'll be 73 in September, but already have ideas for 2027, maybe Namibia. Enjoy every moment, you'll take them with you forever.

Was looking into a warthog or a zebra. Not sure which way I'm leaning so I think I'll probably make a gametime decision over there. I'm planning on doing shoulder mounts for all of these on my first trip just to fill up the wall and do a little Africa bouquet. I will certainly be taking a journal. I find the moments where its quiet, whether in the woods or not, when you can find a time to capture your thoughts in the moment give you some unbelievable thoughts to look back on. I will certainly cherish the trip and I could not be more excited. I think I'm lucky to be operating on a budget so I won't be able to get everything done on this trip. More of a blessing than a curse in my mind. I know I'll leave something in that country that will be desired, and it will give me a reason to go back and experience it all over again. I can't imagine the amount of invaluable information you have at 73 years of age. And its truly inspiring that you're still planning trips across the world to go hunt at that age. I hope to be like you someday. I'll make sure to take as many photos, videos, and gather as much information as I can about the property and get back to you here.

I have been using a "Personal Property" rider on my State Farm homeowner's policy to cover guns when I travel with them.
I have several firearms, but only one is worth over $20K (A Heym double rifle).
Very interested.
Would firearms be covered for damage, as well as, complete loss?
I'll can let the State Farm rider cover my watches...
Behind the scenes of taking that perfect picture.....

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.
