Is $1700 fair for a Remington 798 375h&h

Found a 798 at a local pawn shop asking almost $1700 and thought I’d ask the professionals if this is a fair price. It has a laminated stock and comes with a nikon monarch but I won’t use that scope anyways

For what it is worth, Gunrunner Auctions on August 10,2023 sold a 798 in 375 H&H for $560 hammer price plus 10% premium. It came with a Millett 4-12 x 44 scope.

These are excellent M98 type rifles.
This was my first DGR .The Whitworth style stock is perfect for me. I replaced the 2 position side safety with a M70 style 3 position.

But I like Winchester M70s , current production have great metalwork, precision tolerances. Stocks need some final finish applied but so do other brands these days they are a great value.
