I think that the full story behind this picture would be very interesting...
Either India or Africa?

Anyone with more info?

wtf , man I certainly would love to know this tale .

Must be a great story!

Interesting, hopefully someone can shed some light about this story.

The older trains were not that difficult to derail, they did not have the weight of current locomotives.

small rails and light equipment were the norm in the 1890's, the picture does not provide enough info to see if it was narrow gauge tracks.

Seeing as the elephant died from this incident, it was probably hit head on to have killed it.

Or The elephant standing on the track would also have derailed the train and killed the elephant.

really not much of a story.

thanks willem
its a good story ,would be cool to now other memories of the incident .

neat old picture.

Hi Dr. Ray, I will be in Cooktown from Oct 16 to Oct 23 fishing Lizard Island Black Marlin Tournament.

I have several "slack" days after fishing before I head for stay in Sydney and Fiji.

Do you have any recommendations for 1 or 2 day hunt near Cooktown?

I've hunted both DG and PG in 4 different countries in Africa.
Thank you,
Bob

Good morning. I see that you had a Sauer 202 for sale for $3,000. Did you sell it at that price?
I have one for sale as well. I listed it (on here ) at $3,000 as well. Is the price high, low or right where it should be?

Thanks. Alex. [redacted] in case you want to call me to discuss further. I appreciate your time help and support.

Dave, I could use both of them if still available. I just picked up a new .22 mag and a .22 pump that they would be perfect on.
