Just traded for an Interarms Whitworth Mauser in .375 H&H. Overall the rifle is in very good condition, and appears to have been shot very little. Was planning on keeping it to make a beater .375 that I’m not worried about scratching but decided to try and put some money towards next years trip to Zambia.

Stock has a couple small dings, looks to be more bumps in the safe than scratches. You should be able to see them in the photos. The ebony forend also has a blonde bottom. Recoil pad is in great shape. Stock is crossbolted like most of these Whitworth Mausers. Stock is 13-3/4” to the rear trigger, including the pad.

Blueing is very clean. Couple of wear points with most of it being on the barrel band and 1” or so on either side. Guessing it was African carried at some point. Previous owner never took it to Africa and owned if for a couple years but bought something else for their future Safari. Picture should show the blueing wear around the barrel band sling stud.

Bore is bright and shiny. It looks great, as do the crown and bolt leading me to believe it’s been shot very little like most medium and big bore rifles.

Rifle doesn’t have rear sights, but still has a fiber optic front sight. Rear sight holes are filled with plug screws (aligned), and rifle is wearing a set of Talley Rings. Magazine release works perfectly. Might’ve underwent a trigger job at some point in its life, as the trigger feels a little cleaner than most of the other Whitworth Mausers I’ve handled/felt.

Asking $1400 + Shipping & Handling to your local FFL. PM with any questions.

Nice looking rifle. It looks like the forearm was shortened sometime in its life, every Whitworth I have seen are longer, but nicely done.

You might be right. I just pulled a bunch of pictures of other Whitworths and there’s a larger gap between the end of the checkering and ebony endcap.

I’ll have to measure it later and inspect that area closer.

I too would bet it has been shortened. This pic will give you an idea of what they look like from the factory.

I have two of these, both made in 1985. Based on your serial number, yours probably predates mine by a brief period of time; most likely 1984 or early 85. You can confirm this by looking at the four digit code on the right side of the action just forward of the bolt handle, which tells you the month and year of manufacture. It might be partially obscured by the stock.

Regardless, they are great rifles, usually pretty accurate, and one of the best values on the BGR market. GLWS!

What scope is that?

Thanks

That is an older Leupold Vari-X II 2-7x that I had laying around, and put on the rifle the day that pic was taken, just so I could see what it would look like. I currently have a newer Leupold LPVO type of scope on there, but I'll probably go back to the vintage Leupold in this picture. I just need to get the proper bases and rings for it.

Definitely has not been shortened, my gun is identical, just a bit nicer!... $1400 was a good deal, these guns have been under rated and climbing.

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.
Ready for the hunt with HTK Safaris

Hello:
I’ll take the .375 Whitworth for $1,150 if the deal falls through.
Thanks .
