Insect repellent shirts

This is good to hear. I am hunting for 21 days in west central TZ - fly country. Maybe I need to bring additional, treated shirts. My PH strogly recommends Avon Skin So Soft insect repellent as well. Thanks!
I believe it will state that it can go through 5-6 washings or something close to that. I believe that 5 is the max. In Cameroon I just used two sets of clothes on a 13 day safari. I was good until the last day or two. I still only got a bite or two whereas everyone else fought them the whole time. So I’ll be doing a 10 day hunt in Zim and going directly to a 10 day hunt in Tanzania. I am going to take a few more treated clothes than I normally do this time and maybe a bottle of Sawyer spray.
I also had my Kuiu neck gaitor which was perfect for keeping flies and gnats out of my ears and off my face. Swatting bugs will give you away!

I'm taking a neck buff for the same reason... and four shirts along with 4 pants (treated). Don't want to overpack, but I need to be reasonably comfortable when hunting.

Thanks.

Are these insect pests a year round problem or are some seasonal?

Insects were never a problem on my two outings in RSA so I wonder if that is typical or varies by season and/or country.

Compared to several other countries, insects not a problem in RSA

Thanks. I will continue to avoid the pests as much as possible.

Some very good hunting in 'fly' areas.

There are flies and gnats all over Africa and yes it is seasonal and area dependent. The big issue is tsetse flies that are in the other more remote countries. I’ve never had tsetse bites in two trips to Zim and only had a couple bites as mentioned in Cameroon. Where there are cattle they place special pheromone traps to control the tsetse flies. When you get away from cattle you may find tsetse flies.

What a great way to kick off our 2025 hunting season in South Africa.

This beautiful Impala ram was taken at just over 300 yards, took a few steps and toppled over.

We are looking forward to the next week and a half of hunting with our first client of the year.

Do you have any more copies of African Dangerous Game Cartridges, Author: Pierre van der Walt ? I'm looking for one. Thanks for any information, John [redacted]

Out of all the different color variations of Impala the black Impala just stands out with its beautiful pitch black hide.

Impala is one of the animals you will see all over Africa.
You can see them in herds of a 100 plus together.

This excellent ram was taken with one of our previous client this past season.
