Infinite Edge Pro or Bowtech Fuel

Hi guys

Not sure if this is a safe topic to post, but in need of advice. As mentioned some other threads i am new to hunting and like most "newbies" i require experienced advice on which bow to buy. For obvious reasons i am limited to a budged as the wife also wants to get in on this. I am looking at either the Diamond Infinite Edge Pro or (and more likely) The Bowtech Fuel for myself.

The reading up i did shows that it is basically the same bow as it is one company. That said is it really worth spending the extra R1500+ on the Bowtech?

I'm not familiar with either of the brand names you mentioned so I cannot answer your question directly. What other bow choices do you have? I bought my Matthews about 10 years ago and never looked back. Every bow hunter I've talked to recognizes Matthews as being the best or certainly one of the best hunting bows available.

DO NOT ! get hung up on a particular brand ........ go to a Pro shop have your measurements taken and shoot as many bows as possible . One will just feel right..... Welcome to My addiction .

Agree with G Skinner. Go shoot any bow you are looking at and get what feels the best for you. Diamond is the generic sister of Bowtech. Most major brands all have a second brand they sell via different channels. Typically they will cost less and have a few less features and slightly slower speeds. But this doesn't mean they aren't good bows. I am still shooting an older 2007 diamond and had no issues taking kudu, zebra, impala, warthog, nyala, and countless whitetail over the years. I have been flirting with getting a new bow and will shoot them all first. My bow guys I know don't do this as they have a brand they are Loyal to. You owe it to yourself to do this. Go to hunters friend.com to learn about some good facts on the archery business and why brand loyalty and the highest price models may be overrated. It's a good interesting read. Enjoy the process of evaluating for yourself what feels the best. All the good bows shoot better then any of us can!

My wife just got the infinite edge and quite likes it. Seems like a good bow and she would recommend it. But, ask my son and he would agree you should shoot as many bows as you can so you will understand why you bought a Hoyt

This is the correct advice. Remember most salesmen will sell you the item where he gets the most commission and not what is best for you. Other advice to take into consideration is to buy a bow that is easy adjustable for draw weight and length. This way the bow can be pass on into the family or for resale easily. Do not buy a bow where the draw length is adjustable by changing the cams. This is expensive and sometimes impossible to get hold of. Remember the sight (single pin my preference, but everyone to its own) and rest wont be the best but is good enough to get you going until you have the experience and some capital to upgrade

Any off those brands you're looking at is good enough. If remember correct the Fuel is more adjustable to draw weight than the Edge meaning you children can shoot it too, when you get there. I also looked at the same bows but bought a Bowtech Knight and never look back.

Both are decent bows. I personally shoot much small company's bows and have greater accuracy with them. Bows are interesting things. What one person likes is 180deg from another. I shoot Athens which is a draw length specific bow company, but their bows have a smoother drawing and have a great feel. You really need to get hands on to see how the bow feels to you. A 1000-1600 bow can feel like junk next to a 899 bow some times its just the name on the side of it that cost you.
