Infections on the Rise, Johannesburg Mayor Dies: Virus Update

Blaines Farm and Fleet in Illinois or Rural King. Ivermectin liquid or paste,,,,just estrapolate the dosage. Heartwormer for dogs…Pfizer. Common wormer for Animals…humans ?……..no thanks.
Ivermectin has shown some success in trials in treatment of Covid. Its not however approved by the FDA for that usage. But guess what, neither are any of the current vaccines in use for treatment of Covid.

Seriously? I must say, I consider hunting something other than an ego trip. Having my teeth whitened - that would likely qualify as salving my ego. But hunting? Not so much. And if what you say is correct, then your only alternative is to hide at home for "the foreseeable future and beyond." And beyond may indeed be a very long time.
Exactly. They want to keep everyone afraid forever.

OTTAWA — Canada could open its border to fully vaccinated Americans for nonessential travel as early as mid-August.

The news comes after Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s call with premiers on Thursday night. According to a readout of the conversation, Trudeau’s provincial and territorial counterparts “expressed their support of reopening plans, and agreed on the importance of ensuring clarity and predictability as initial steps are taken.”

If restrictions are eased, U.S. citizens and permanent residents would be allowed into Canada. The readout noted current vaccination rates and Covid-19 trends are on a “positive path” and if they continue, “Canada would be in a position to welcome fully vaccinated travellers from all countries by early September.”

Nearly 80 percent of eligible Canadians have received at least one dose of a Covid-19 vaccine; and at least 53 percent are fully vaccinated, according to Deputy Chief Health Officer Howard Njoo.
Those vaccination rates are higher than the United States where nearly 56 percent have received at least one dose and more than 48 percent are vaccinated.

The Trudeau government has previously suggested that current border restrictions won’t ease until at least 75 percent of Canada’s population has been fully vaccinated.

Pressure from U.S.: Trudeau’s cautious approach with the land border hasn’t made him many new friends stateside, including Rep. Brian Higgins (D-N.Y.) and New York State Assemblymember Jonathan Rivera. The pair issued a joint statement earlier this month urging the Canadian government to open the land border, arguing “the necessity for such drastic measures has now expired.” “We respectfully request that Canadian officials use the powers defined by their offices to end the border closure for good on July 21 and return our two great nations to a place of storied camaraderie,” the statement read.

Midwest legislators unanimously passed a resolution at the Midwestern Legislative Conference on Wednesday to ask the White House and Canadian governments to strike a deal to ease restrictions to allow fully vaccinated travelers across the U.S.-Canada border.

Quick background: The U.S.-Canada border has been closed to all nonessential travel since March 2020. That initial agreement struck between the two countries at the onset of the pandemic has been extended on a rolling monthly basis.

I just left Jberg July 13. Emirates cancelled my flights twice. Had to book United to NY then on to Houston. Covid is all over S. Africa. There is looting and rioting with Ex President Zumba being put in prison. You have to have permits to drive from border to border. Curfew in effect from 9:PM -4:am.
If I had to do it all over again I would stay home. My hunt was fantastic...I shot Cape buffalo,Sable,Roam,Kudu, Zebra,Warthog,Wilderbeast, Blesbok & Klipspringer.

So you personally witnessed looting and rioting in and around the Jo'burg area during your travels?

No not personally; but heard it was going on. I was up in Limpopo and we needed permits to get to the JoBerg Airport and where stopped a couple times checking out permits.

I'm glad to hear that you personally had no issues to and from Limpopo. SAPS checkpoints on the roads are nothing new in RSA covid and civil unrest aside. Why would you say then you would have stayed home of you had to do it over again?

You witnessed no real first hand incidents? You had a fantastic hunt? Yet you would not do again?????? I am confused, was the flight issue the reason you would not do again?

Spent some time on phone other night with our PH, he said same as many others, crap is very localized and yes bad, we will not go into those areas, will keep our wits and stay aware. But he has seen no issues and has had many hunts and hunters over last months. Not sure what the newly announced 25000 deployed soldiers will do. Squash/crush the crap I hope.

Please don's visit Ontario Canada, the gangs are shooting each other in Vancouver.

My view. Wheels up two weeks today.

I had a wonderful time, enjoyed great hunting, great accommodations but with the Covid19 spreading so much and so fast over Africa it made me a bit worrisome for my health and the health of others when I return home.

Good to hear you made it out and all OK. Just curious, what was the issue with Emirates and were there many people on the United return flight.

On the way from Houston to JoBerg Emirates was GREAT! I had return reservations back on July 15 and Emirates Cancelled flight till July 18 then cancelled that flight. They then said July22. I decided on July 13 to book one way with United and get home. I bet come July 22 they will cancel again

I have received a notification today that you can't return from RSA through Dubai with Emirates anymore.
Now I have to see if I can change my flight or cancel my safari.

Did you use a travel agent? Or book yourself?
Hopefully you can get flights on Qatar or one of the other airlines

Darn, I am headed to Harare in 10 days via Emirates, hope they don't suspend those flights as well.

I think Turkish airlines still goes to J'Burg with a 8-9 hour layover in Istanbul. That could be an option if Qatar doesn't work.

Sounds like we are going same day. I'm on Ethiopian, Toronto to Joberg. Fingers crossed this SA mess has no more spill over casualties. Or in country casualties.

Hi Jay,

Hope you're well.

I'm headed your way in January.

Attending SHOT Show has been a long time bucket list item for me.

Finally made it happen and I'm headed to Vegas.

I know you're some distance from Vegas - but would be keen to catch up if it works out.

Have a good one.

Mark
