I just look at it this way, I am in my right mind, most of the rest of the world is nuts.@Bandera
@Bandera, first let me say how impressed I am that you face the world so bravely with your disability. You're so honest and forthright about it that I think you will help others as well. I know your fight probably feels hopeless and that the world isn't made for people like you so afflicted, but here you are, shouting for all to hear, "I AM LEFT-HANDED!!!".
Obliged for the advice - however clearly you are an enabler - if it cleans up I am going to need another one - for the 333 Jeffery !While I'm not saying shot out barrels don't exist, I've never seen one. I'd give it a 30 day speciality cleaning regimen, I'd get a forend tensioner inside the forestock, and if there is any throat erosion I'd ream the throat a bit longer. Shoot heavy for caliber bullets in it.
If you do the above, I would be astounded if it isn't 1 MOA or better. Most terribly inaccurate #1s are due to the forend harmonics but there is a simple device you can inlet into the forend to provide consistent tension and harmonics. It turns 3MOA dogs into .75 MOA wonders.

The sun was in my eyes, so I may be squinting. I'm right handed but left eye dominate, so I've been hunting with a #1 for the last 35 years. I love how short and handy the #1s are, they are easy to carry in the field and work well in tree stands. The No. 1 I used on my buffalo weighs a trim 11-1/2 pounds and cloverleafs rounds at 100 yards. If has a mercury recoil reducer in the stock to soak up some of that recoil the 416 Rigby is know for. If I was looking to buy another big bore No. 1 I'd get a 450/400.Great pics and a handsome rifle. Did you blink in that top pic? What is it you like so much about the No 1? It's certainly a tidy looking rifle, but what about shooting them is so fun?
Im eyeballing a couple 7x57 No. 1s on Gunbroker right now. Thinking of pairing a nice #1 and a bolt gun in .416 rem mag (or Rigby) on my next safari.#1s are nice rifles and you can find some of them with exceptional quality wood grain. They are classy looking and designed after one of the best single shots ever made. Instead of going bigger, how about a 7x57? Get something you would hunt a lot of PG and deer with...get the nicest one you can find and put excellent glass on it. I did the same thing but with a Dakota 10 in 7x57. You won't regret having a fine rifle in a really practical hunting caliber. It will get a lot of use and create a lot of memories for you.

Exactly what I did…Dakota in 416 Rigby and Dakota 10 in 7x57. Killer combo.Im eyeballing a couple 7x57 No. 1s on Gunbroker right now. Thinking of pairing a nice #1 and a bolt gun in .416 rem mag (or Rigby) on my next safari.
Now all of you enablers have me craving a No. 1. Saw several on Gunbroker with Mannlicher stocks, any thoughts on one with that stock option? Seems like something really different than any of my other rifles
