It is with profound sorrow to relay the information
that Chris Bolton has died. Information is scant right now as his widow is asking for privacy for her and her young child Sage.
Chris was a friend and my first PH in Africa. A few members here have hunted with him with Zungah safaris.
As I know more I'll pass it along.
Sad day.

This is very sad news to hear, as many of us will say far to young. Let's pass condolences to family and friends and hope they are getting some support at this difficult time. RIP.

thank you for starting this thread @Ironhorse375

Chris was my mentor since I started guiding 12 years ago and since then we became good friends. Everytime I guided with him I learned something new. He gave me a chance as a young PH when nobody else wanted to and it is because of him, his guidance, his ethics, his master skills, his mentorship and trust that I have become who I am today.

He was well known for for his barefoot hunting all the time and especially in the toughest of our terrain. He will be dearly missed by all that have known him.
All round a great guy that never had something bad to say about anyone.

I still had the honor to hunt and spend time with him last week and we made many plans ahead. What a great time we had.

His family and especially his wife and young daughter is devastated and shattered. I’m shattered and still at a loss for words. He will be dearly missed and always remembered as his legacy and name lives on.

Let a noble man rest for not how he has died but how he lived.

We lost him in service and he was busy doing what he enjoyed most.

“When an old man dies, a library burns to the ground,” an African proverb tells us.

I just learned of Chris’s passing yesterday. I am so sad as he was a wonderful person and agreed to take on my young son on his first Safari. He was so kind and did such a wonderful job with both of us I used to enjoy seeing him at the Sacramento show. Please tell me how did Chris pass? Thank you for your time in this matter.
