In memoriam - Bruce Moulds has passed away

Just sad. Thank you for sharing your time and knowledge with us Bruce, the true value of both so unknown in the moment.

Prayers to the family and friends left behind. Our sincerest condolences.

I really don't know what to say... I'm sick to my stomach and something must be in my eyes.

I never met Bruce in person but we exchanged enough conversations to know he was a good man. He had not only a passion for teaching but also for learning. I very much wanted to go to his shooting range to see what he did and what he looked for when reading wind.

He being missed this much by us I can only imagine the hole it has left in his family.

My you rest in peace Bruce, I still owe you that beer.

I went looking for Bruce last post out of interest.
oelof,
we would need to know the specifics of your tests to understand how hydro leaves a wider wound channel than a swift.
certainly one would expect a longer deeper wound, but diameter of wound could be a different thing.
in my mind the two bullets are meant for different things.
bruce.

Nearly 50 posts from AH members by lunchtime. It's exactly the reaction I expected from the Africa Hunting community.
Given there might be only a dozen Aussie members Bruce has certainly made an impact on the community making many friends here.
I think his family may login again to see the thoughts of so many people who interacted with Bruce here.

Just talking with Dr Ray and found out another Australian member, Bruce Moulds (@bruce moulds), has died! He got meningococcal meningitis. Only 69. Sad for his family. Rest in peace Bruce.
I used to have telephone conversations with Bruce. He also asked me above my Von Gruff knives. We talked about his hunting of camels etc.

Rest in peace, Bruce.
My condolences to all concerned.

I would hope that his family does login and see the response that he has generated and celebrate the contributions that he made to this small community.

@Dr Ray
So we can blame Bruce for getting you into Gary's @Von Gruff knives.
He sure did like them and spoke about them often with praise.

Bruce made a mark on this forum and apparently in other places. He obviously liked a windup but his technical queries, advice and information were of a consistently high standard. He appeared to have strong ethics and a belief in continuing the passing on of information from more experienced hunters and shooters; that would have helped him on his hunting and shooting journey.
My father passed away just over a year ago and I expect that, as in our family; memories of Bruces’ achievements, stories and personal idiosyncrasies will be coming back to his family members. We were privileged to read his words and be challenged, at times vigorously, by his responses to our posts on AH. RIP Bruce and thank you for your presence on this forum.

When I saw a post by him, I immediately knew it was worth reading and that it would would be an interesting one. When one thinks about the contributions made here of knowledge and experience, he will be missed by shooters around the world. RIP Bruce.
