In a war, 38 per cent of Americans would RUN!

"The Liberal keyboard warrior's wouldn't run, would they?"

Your front line ass kickers who support gun control !!!

Honestly I’m not at all surprised …. And that’s one of the reasons I am LEAVING Austin Texas!

I found myself surrounded by QUITTERS when the big freeze came in last year and I refuse to be surrounded by so many willingly helpless people if a real threat came to be.

There is a big difference between running away and being forced to run.

If the people polled were men of fighting age then let them run…they’d just be in the way and get more people hurt anyway. But, then why let them back in afterwards?

If the people polled were women with kids, that’s different. I would send family out of harms way as well if forced.

Democrats/antis wouldn’t tell anyone they’re running…they’d sneak out and hide behind the border waiting for it to be over so they can rush back and say “look what we did”.

But on a more serious note, it might be different when the bombs start dropping and family starts getting hurt. Who knows, you could see a comedian turn into a hero. I tend to have more faith in people in general, maybe to a fault.

Let’s just hope and pray no one is put to the test.

With the exception of the few people who have already faced such a situation, these are the answers of the untested. The most unlikely people become heroes when the chips are down. The most confident may freeze or run or cry. The only answer that matters is the one that happens when the wolf is at your door. Until then, they are just stories we tell ourselves.

Anyone will fight when cornered. It just has to be the right situation--protecting self, family, property. For those of us who have worn the uniform it could be just another chapter. I'd bet that many old warriors who can still navigate would take up arms. We may not move too fast but we can still shoot and not much is more deadly than a pissed off old fart.

I don’t think anyone knows what they will do till until they’re put in the situation.
It would also depend if they have somewhere to run to. If Americans need to run, there probably won’t be anywhere safe to go.
True Patriots run toward the fight.

My wife has an extensive firearms collection that I would not leave behind. Always wondered what a .375 H & H Magnum would do to an engine block on a Russian vehicle or tank.
I noticed you mentioned not leaving behind your wife's collection but you didn't mention your wife. ;)

The number of fighters is way less than 50%. It was only 3% for the Revolution, so who needs emm.

I would send my wife and kids to a spot as far away as I could if there was a fight on US soil though.

Look at the percentage of those who have joined the military for XYZ reasons. It is a very small number. I believe the majority would run, and those true patriots who wore the uniform would stay. I've been in a revolution war as a non-combatant civilian, and let me tall ya, it's was not fun.

as a old vietnam war veteran(78) i would not run. i have had a good life and most likely don,t have too many years left. i used a m-14 and m-16 along with a m-60 in vietnam and was a good enough soldier to survive.

The 38% that would run would probably be a good thing ... they are the ones defunding the police, teaching CRT, raising taxes, demanding entitlements, hating America, etc. generally trying to destroy America. We should help them leave the country with no return rights.

The important thing would be to try and figure out how to use the 38% that would run tactically in a conflict ... let's face it, many of these weebs rely on Lfyt or Uber and do not own a vehichle. Where and how are they gonna run?

With respect to "who" will defend our country? In Wisconsin we have ~700,000 citizens who enter the woods in the fall during gun deer hunting season with high powered rifles, another 200 - 300,000 who take to the woods equipment with bows, and some 25k-50k who take part in our muzzle loader season. Then there are all the citizen gun owners who do not hunt. These folks are located in every city, town, podunk community and lonely bend in the road of the state. Many of these folks are veteran's, patriots, and just down right ornery to outsiders.

Suffice it to say that I think there is a pretty strong and well armed citizens militia in Wisconsin in addition to the Military presence stationed here. I suspect many states have the same situation as described above.

While I hope we never experience war on our shores, I have faith there are many here that will step up to the challenge of defending what so many have previously shed blood to defend.

My own experience with people from former soviet bloc countries or Russians themselves does not agree with that statement.

Oh sure, they will agree that ‘some’ things were better under communist rule, education often being give as an example. But that it was a very miserable existence overall and that the western mode of living is largely preferred. (Kids perhaps had a more complete, profound education back then, but it also was not a certainty that fresh bread would be on the table every week..)

The U is also a very corrupt, crime-ridden place. Don't believe anything you read or hear in the MSM (which again, is used as a tool to stoke world wars!) I like the thought of hunting in those E. bloc countries that have become democratic and pulled their pants up a bit. 'Still a ways to go, but from what I've seen, fine for ibex, sheep, etc.

I’m not surprised by the 38%, but to me the issue is the absolute lack of strength shown by our government as if that’s how America became what it is. Pathetic.

We should help them leave the country with no return rights.
i agree with this thought. women and children should be protected, I'm ok with that. re: the purple/rainbow haired crowd, if they wanna leave, let em. DONT let em back in. let em screw up the country that they would rather live in.

i admire the ukrainians that are staying to fight, i pray for them every day.

i think we have pussified the men and even the women in this country by allowing or encouraging stupid stuff like not making every child say the pledge of allegiance. by telling them that their skin color determines their future and whether they are victims or abusers. by telling them that there are more than 2 genders. by telling them that their country is not a just country.

@Red Leg could speak to this better than i but i suspect the USA has shed more blood for/in other countries than our own country. we are not always right or perfect, but i believe that we have tried to do good in the world.

remember when that tsunami hit japan and the UAE, Russia and China sent all that foreign aid to the japanese? oh wait, thats right, that was AMERICA that did that, not those other %$^&ers!

all that said, there are still patriots in this country, they still voluntarily sign up to defend and protect, cops, firemen or armed services, they make me proud.

so, i say, let em leave but don't come back!!

I agree, but was referring to women and children.

Civilians are always a major headache in war time...One of my first priorities in defending the homeland would be to clear the battle space of all non-combatants. Make room for and preserve resources for the fighters. Lead Follow or get out of the way!

Hi Jay,

Hope you're well.

I'm headed your way in January.

Attending SHOT Show has been a long time bucket list item for me.

Finally made it happen and I'm headed to Vegas.

I know you're some distance from Vegas - but would be keen to catch up if it works out.

Have a good one.

Mark
