They pretty much take care of everything from the time that your trophy hits the skinning shed.Does Safari Specialty handle the shipping portion or just the importing?
I used them for my safaris and was very satisfied. They handled everything from my outfitter notifying them of the trophies to my taxidermist. They coordinated the dip and pack in RSA, shipping, US customs, transportation to my taxidermist. Logistics, paperwork, bureaucracy, they got it done. They pretty much take care of everything from the time that your trophy hits the skinning shed.
If you have any questions I suggest that you give Wyatt a call. I have used them twice for my shipments home and if I go over again they will get my business once more.
Yes, They will arrange everythingThey handle everything.
I hate to provide negativeI've been reading over a number of threads on the forum trying to decide on an importer for my finished work from a safari of April of last year. I have spoke with a few and am leaning toward Safari Specialty Importers as they have worked with my outfitter and taxidermist and I like that they have a USDA bonded facility as i have swine and a primate. I have had a few emails and a phone call with Wyatt and I am comfortable so far.
I am looking for some insight from any members who have worked with them in the past to get a feel for how they liked it etc. etc. etc.
Since your asking if it’s a cites animal I would only use Conservation Force periodYes, They will arrange everything
But they will use an African shipping company. Just to be clear the the question you were answering.
I have used them previously and Ian from SSI just called me back today about my stuff in Namibia at the moment.
Ian is a great guy who formerly worked at Talley manufacturing (rings) and now joined up with Wyatt at SSI.
I would recommend SSI
What? What cites animal? The swine and primate he listed?I hate to provide negative

Did not mean to place under you. Choose not to share and just made my recommendation. That’s allWhat? What cites animal? The swine and primate he listed?
And why are you quoting me? There is 15 other comments on here recommending them
In your haste to be a know it all - I think you thought you were on another thread?Did not mean to place under you. Choose not to share and just made my recommendation. That’s all
That’s uncalled for…having a bad day? I only share experience when asked not opinions without my own experience to back it up. Most people on here appreciate that. sorry you dontIn your haste to be a know it all - I think you thought you were on another thread?
Maybe the thread with JES having elephant in Namibia? You are on a different thread my friend
Because your comment to me made zero sense to me about OP having cites animals.
He’s asking about SSI for his last hunt in South Africa with a warthog?
Go sell a double rifle or something
No, your comment to me just makes no sense. That’s uncalled for…having a bad day? I only share experience when asked not opinions without my own experience to back it up. Most people on here appreciate that. sorry you dont
I used Wyatt for my September’24 Safari to Nyakasanga Zimbabwe. I shipped home a 13 1/2’ croc, a buffalo, eland, kudu and grysbok. It took a very long time to finally ship to NY and it cost $8000 for airfreight ($5000) and associated fees. The crate weighed 183#’s. The cargo arrived in NY on May 29 and was finally cleared for shipment to tannery July 9. I mention this so those of you with Cities animals may want to seriously consider a shipper that owns their own warehouse ( as Wyatt does). I can’t imagine what the cost would have been had I had to pay for storage. Wyatt told me these long delays were getting to be the norm with USFW.
These shipping charges for big five animals are ridiculous but it seems we have no options
