I’ve been looking at this one. I have an AHR #3 in .375 and love it. May cull the safe and raise $ for it.

I had literally no room foe another rifle full stop!
Damm!!

Nice rifle, the only problem is that if I would spend that much coin on a bolt gun I need the stock to fit and not have to fiddle with it. With a 15 1/4 LOP the only factory off the shelf rifles that have ever fit have all been double rifles.

After you've spent it, regardless of the amount, you'll consider it money well spent!! After all, what have you done? Exchanged a stack of paper with the pictures of presidents for a fine piece of functional art. Seems a slam-dunk to me.

I like the way you think!

As a big fan of AHR and Wayne's upgrade's, I would have to say the 404 is nice, but the rear site's are a bit far forward. However if one need's a 458 I really like the looks of the first one listed a Lott!!!

I have used AHR upgraded 375's on both of my safaris, the CZ platform with Wayne's touch's have performed flawless and both of the rifle's I had where extremely accurate.

The funny thing is I'm 6'2" (or at least was) and the correct length of pull for me is between 13.25 and 14" depending on cast off and exactly which theory you use (5.75" from trigger to nose), 1" from thumb to nose or 3 Finger Width from thumb to nose. I find I shoot shotguns and point fired weapons better toward the longer but aimed fired weapons (Especially scoped) better toward the shorter.

Actually I likely shoot the cheapest rifle I own, a $300 Thompson Center Compass in 6.5 Creedmoor ($239.99 - $75 Rebate at Larry's, Sightron S1 3-9x40 - $88 at Optics Planet, Warne Maxima - $20 Wiley's going out of business sale = $272.99 + Tax) better than any other. It's kind of embarrasing that the ugliest and cheapest rig I own will put 5 shots into 2" at 300 yards and I can't do the same with a $2,000 rig. Must say something for the 13.25" LOP.

Hornady ELD-X 143 gr - H4350 40.0 gr - Lapua Brass - CCI 450 Primers at 2600 fps in 22" before someone ask.

Those Hornady Precision Hunters are like magic. Had to look hard to see how many shots from 6.5 CM went through the same hole at 100 yards. Spot on and deadly from 7mm Rem Mag. Hope to get to the range with the 270 Win ... pretty sure I have a box of those around somewhere in the ammo dump.

It would be very convenient for me if my LOP was close to normal:cool: but I gotta work with what the Dear Lord gave me. I have two magnum length control feed actions stashed away and one is going to be a 416 Rigby and the other a 404 Jeff. But they are projects for later next year. To many house projects needed to get done first.

I really admire the work that AHR and other custom shops do on these rifles.

It's good to have options. Especially quality options. All you need is the tool (money). Time to go find some more tools....

@Mac Baren, I live central to city of Cincinnati. I have work travel early this week but could hopefully meet later this week (with no schedule changes). What area of town are you working/staying in?
Kind regards
Ron
