Identify this spoor....

Well, in my humble opinion, judging from the size of that spoor and by the prominent 'nail ' marks, I would also go for spotted hyena...

Spotted Hyaena tracks show claws on the ground. The front footprint is always larger than the hind one

You are correct, Willem, that is the back track of a spotted hyena. The back paw always has a scuff mark leading into the track, as you can see clearly in the road photo, because they drag their bag legs. The Brown hyena also show claw marks, but their pads are completely different, as shown in your middle photo.

I would have to say they are both about the same freshness, although the ungulate looks a bit newer. ????

A - the scene of the accident in the Kalahari where an antelope of some sorts t-boned a bird of some sorts

B - looks like a type of dog track, so my swag is hyena

C - if it were in N.America I'd be thinking bear

Haven't a clue, can you tell? Africa has so many forms of wildlife in any one location, I can't tell.

I am pretty sure I am completely wrong, but just to be a rebel, is there a baboon involved at all with any of these tracks? Damn I hope I'm not humiliating myself but hey, I had to give it a try. Still waiting on the confirmation of the original tracks. Observe? I really need to know so I can stop obsessing over this. Re the track with the .416 round, leopard? In my opinion defo feline. Bet you guys are laughing at me...

Jane, I would take an educated guess on that first photo and would go with 'kudu'
