I met someone from the internet (and didn't get murdered!!)

I will be announcing a major European tour this year some time. :LOL:

Seriously though, I do plan to follow my family on the next visit. My niece lives in Vicenza with her Army Ranger husband. (He is recuperating from a broken leg skiing training) We hope to visit friends in Spain during that visit.

Then separately visiting the Isle of Man, Ireland and Scotland
@Altitude sickness
My wife and I ( well she has)have planned in mid October thru until early December.
We will be catching up with a few AHers in America while we are there. Then off to Ireland, Scotland into England to catch up with more relations and a couple more AHers. Then off to Italy and home via Singapore.
Will be a great trip especially catching up with fellow members of this fine group of people.
Bob

Somehow I knew that was coming :LOL:
@CZDiesel
@CoElkHunter is a really y nice person. I have spent countless hours talking to him on WhatsApp. I know he is really looking forward to retirement and I hope he enjoys it. It can be hard transitioning from working to retirement as you can feel lost. After a while if you have a good hobby and good friends you wonder how you ever fitted work in. It gives you a new perspective on life.

Trying to put together an Italian safari myself. Where are you visiting in the US?

@CoElkHunter
All that despite owning a 338 wimpchester.
Ha Ha Ha Ha
Bob
Yes. @CZDiesel will eventually find a pre 64 WINCHESTER MODEL 70 in .338 WINCHESTER MAGNUM and all will be good Bob. Maybe they made it in .35 WHELEN? I wouldn’t know why they would have, but stranger things have happened. LOL

Oh, my wife will GUARANTEE I won't feel lost even if I want to be lost in the garage or the basement. I need to figure a way to get from one to the other without being "discovered" by my wife. Maybe a tunnel? LOL

I have my Custom Shop 338WinMag and I’m happy knowing it will do everything a Whelen will do and more :D
We’ll go shoot it soon!

@CoElkHunter
You could always get a pre 64 and rebarell it to the mighty Whelen.

I have a sign for you
I've gone to find myself
If I get back before I return
Keep me here.

After you have used that fire breathing, bitch slapping noise maker and realise it's not much use try the MIGHTY TOWER IF POWER, THE 35 WHELEN. Come over to the enlightened side. There's at least a few members here that after loading the Whelen properly now leave the useless 338 wimpchester languishing in the safe where it belongs. Not in the hunting field.

It's a pity your not in Milan.
My wife and I are visiting her cousin near Malpensa in early December.
Never been to Italy but looking forward to seeing Milan, Como, Turin and some other places in northern Italy.
Bob

Indeed it's a pity, it will be for another time - the North is beautiful and different, a bit more central European, going down the peninsula we are a bit more latin...
You know, Italy is long and thin, and it stretches from the Alps to almost touching Africa, so the landscape, the weather (pretty cold, in winter, up there), the habits, the food and people are quite different and varied.
You'll have a great time anyway!

Also Bob, size the chance to visit Isolabella, on Lago Maggiore, that is very close (65 km) to Lago di Como. It's a real gem.

Phil, I don’t know where Lago Garda ranks compared to the others. But that is where my niece was married 5 years ago. Very nice destination wedding.

Well, is like 200 km +/- from Lago di Como, in our Great Lakes region in the upper north. A beautiful area indeed, great quality of life too.
Great choice for your niece, she'll have nice memories forever I believe.
Thanks for sharing the pics!

We will be having a look around Lago Maggiore and Como.
Trying to convince the wife to drive right around Lago Maggiore going up one side into Switzerland and down the other side. Would be in nice way to spend a day.

Ah it will be easy to convince her, Isola Bella and the Isole Borromee are some of the most romantic places in Italy! Just google them, show her, and she'll agree, I bet!
