Has anyone hunted chamois in Serbia? Carpathian or Balkan. Safari EHA?

I just booked with them for an October hunt. I’ll report the results on my return. Two chamois, and either a fallow or a mouflon. Free range recka sheep are also an option, but that feels like “hunting” a farm animal; I could be completely mistaken though.

Did they go to DSc?

@Redfishga1

We have at least two Serbian members on the forum.
@Serbian Hunter
@Miletic

Drop them a pm and ask for advice.
Serbian hunter is not active lately, but Miletic is every day here.

Hi Redfish
I live in Serbia.
The “rupicapra rupicapra balcanica” is present in Sebia and naturally inhabits mountainous areas. They are mostly found on Tara, Sar Mountain, Prokletije, Lazarev Canyon and Juzni Kucaj. The trophy value is solid. They live in a completely wild nature and did not grow up in a cage. Her main enemy is the wolf, which is constantly present in the mentioned places. Because of this, the wild boar is healthy and in excellent condition.

Hunt my be in period: 01.10. - 31.01.
The smallest permitted caliber is 6 mm and the grain weight is 5.8 g (5.8gr)

Like @Miletic said. Only Balkan chamois. Price from outfitters is similar as in other places that have them like for example Bosnia, Bulgaria etc.

I will make an offer for my hunting organization in Serbia in March. Before the start of deer hunting

I was told there were "free range" racka sheep available in Serbia, and that it was a "challenging hunt".

I don't want to end up hunting farm animals, but I'm ignorant on the subject, and thought it best to inform myself.

Yes, I understand. There is no racka ship in Serbia. Maybe someone has it for hunting in the gater, but I certainly do not recommend it. Fallow and mouflon hunting can be organized. Serbia has excellent roe deer and red stag (cervus elaphus l), as well as wild boar, so foreign hunters most often come to hunt them.

Macedonia. Also it is not a wild sheep. So not my cup of tea.

It is not wild, but Macedonia has an excellent hunting ground that has it. It is an excellent hunting ground for other types of wild game

Yes for sure. For me it would be an add on species. It is not something I would travel for just to hunt one. It is at best a feral sheep but to each his own. Macedonia is definitely an interesting hunting destination from what I've heard.

Yes,i agree with you.

Yes Rackas are a farmed sheep breed from Hungary.

I think they figure the guys in Texas are shooting them why not them.

Our local roe place in Hungary has a farm that has Racka for 300 Euros. You are shooting them out of a pasture.

Our local zoo has them, they are 100% farm sheep. Knock you over for a carrot.

I don't know what the going rate on these other places are, but that's about where I would end with one.

Whoever this is is getting 6500 Euros for the sheep experience.

They are not even pure, look at their photos.

Jerome, do you think my last post in rough camping must maybe shift as an article?

Good afternoon,

I'm trying to get in contact with Mr Butch Searcy. I have the opportunity to buy one of his rifles chambered in 577 nitro Express however the seller does not have any of the paperwork with the information about what ammunition or bullet weight was used to regulate it. I know he is not making firearms anymore but I wanted to reach out after seeing one of your post about him.

Hi - the only (best) method of sending you the .375/06IMP data is with photographing my book notes. My camera died so the only way I can do it is with my phone. To do that, I would need your e-mail address, as this
new Android phone is too complicated to upload to my desk computer, which would be easier and to down-grade, reduce the file sizes.
Best wishes
Daryl
