Hunting pack load out for a safari

Usually, the backpack one of the trackers carries has a roll of TP as well as several bottles of water.

No one has mentioned toilet paper or its equivalent, but I bet all of you have some along...
That’s very important! I have a well traveled roll in my day pack, it’s actually 10 years old. It made its first trip to Mozambique in 2014 and 4 trips to South Africa. About time to replace as it’s about used up!

I usually take two packs with me. One of them is a carry on 72 hr 5.11 pack, I pack my meds, electronics, small toiletries for the trip, and an extra change of clothes, just in case my suit case doesn't make it. The other pack is a 5.11 day pack, and that one is only used in camp, and I normally put in my camera, extra ammo, gloves, beanie, etc. It serves also to put my jacket as the day gets warmer. That pack goes in my check in luggage. I never use my carry-on pack while hunting to prevent any issues, just in case an empty case or cartridge somehow got lost inside and it's found by security at the airport. I've read too many horror stories, and I don't want to be one of them.

When out for a stroll, away from the truck, no backpacks for me.

Rifle
Hunting belt with ammo slider. Fixed knife as well if chasing long-nose
Binoculars
iphone
Hat
handkerchief
Chapstick
Petzl-headlamp

Roughly in that order of importance.

food and drinks are being carried in a backpack by one of the trackers/skinners.
In the truck I'll carry a bit more gear, but so far never really needed it. What I tend to take out the most of my backpack, is in the morning I'll be putting some extra sunscreen left and right

Knife, ammo slide, binos on a chest harness, flashlight for evening hunts, sunglasses on head, watch.

The above is what I carried every day over the last two weeks of hunting. Sometimes I took my phone, mostly I didn’t.

I keep a small bag in the truck with spare batteries, More ammo. Chapstick. TP, wet wipes, more headlamps, paracord, and medical tape.

Everyone always thinks about the worst thing that can happen, maybe ask yourself what's the best outcome that could happen?
