Hunting Compared To Apartheid & The Holocaust

To Dereck Joubert

I have a new rule to propose. If during a debate, you try to compare your adversary/opposition to a group/person completely unrelated to the topic (Hitler, rapists, Klansmen, etc.) YOUR OUTTA HERE. I'm so sick of people using tragedies like this to shock others and gain more supporters. You're not being "intelligent" or "edgy," you're being a crossed-eyed, pickle-brained dumbass who has no care for the suffering of people that were actually subjected to these atrocities. How do you think an Actual Holocaust victim would take that snide little remark you made about hunters being "Worse than the Nazis?" Or how about a rape victim, war veteran, any other people who went through this sort of horror? So tl;dr, screw you for your blatant disregard for human pain and misery, I hope you step on a LEGO brick at night.

The same Dereck Joubert who could not make it as a PH;) Ask a few of his ex hunting clients, he should stick to "hunting" with a camera:D

So what made him change from hunter to animal-right's advocate? Also, can I have a source on that?

Uganda’s apparent decision to re-impose a ban on hunting in that country
Published in PHASA Press Release"
[Will know in a second if the quotes worked put - this isn't as easy as it used to be!]

Sorry to take us away from liners vs. liberals?, but has Uganda decided to ban hunting? I must be asleep . . .

Well I recon if he could not make a living as a PH he only had one other option.
Sure, read Peter Flack's books, he has a very enlightend opinion on Dereck Joubert.

I can find nothing on a hunting ban in Uganda. At least in 2014.

You can always contact them directly.

The current Wildlife Authority website:

"Uganda Wildlife Act

Wildlife management in Uganda was once the responsibility of the government alone. However, as concern grew about how wildlife management would be achieved without support from district authorities, communities and the private sector, there was the need to involve other stakeholders. This gave birth to the Wildlife Use Rights.

Wildlife Use Rights are some of the ways in which UWA motivates communities to sustainably manage wildlife on both communal and private land. There are six classes of Wildlife Use Rights: hunting, farming, ranching, trading, educational and research and general extraction use rights. This program is based on the principle that economic benefits from wildlife can lead to better custodianship of wildlife resources. Examples of this are Lake Mburo National Park and Kabwoya Wildlife Reserve, where wildlife numbers have increased since the sport hunting program was launched.

Communities in these regions have realized that there are greater rewards from the animal fees paid by the sport hunters than there were from poaching. In addition to the financial benefits, all the meat is left for the communities. In one district, a boarding primary school was funded by sport hunting."

I am of the opinion that guys like Dereck (FYI it's not the first time) make statements such as this to create uproar, the more sensation they can create the more emotion they can provoke.
This has been a very basic and lifelong ploy for most anti hunting and to be quite honest any activist out there.

Reality is, there is nothing we can do to stop anti's from publicly regurgitating such statements,.... Most importantly we should refrain at all times to go the emotional route.

Our replies and retorts should be well thought out and straight to the point.

Big up to Herman for his reply and staying away from any personal attack.

My best always

You sure its the same Dereck Joubert? I find it hard to believe.

Thanks Brickburn. I have checked and can't find anything either. Accuracy has never been one of the anti's best weapons.

Jaco.........................well said. We should avoid the emotional response. I will go one step further, and say we should avoid the scientific response, as well.
Most people have strong emotional beliefs that are not supported by science: eg; My son's the best, my religion is the only true one, etc. A scientific counter argument will get nowhere. Telling antis that hunting is applied conservation is useless. Consider your own beliefs carefully and ask if a scientific counter argument will change them.

It may be trite and a cliche, but I believe that one good approach is to tell the lady with the leather handbag and the knee high leather boots, or the anti eating the big beef burrito, that they are hunters too. They kill to live. They simply hire others to do it for them.

To the complete vegan who is opposed to hunting, I can respect that. But I would simply say his windshield killed a million bugs and the antibiotic he took last year killed a billion bacteria so he could stay alive another season. If he truly believes.........I mean truly believes that all killing is wrong, he has only one correct course of action. That usually shuts them up.........................FWB

Extreem ideology of any stripe is lunacy... Left or right.
