Well its my first time in africa and i want to go this year but the only month that i have free is November, would it be ok to go? Will it be worth the trip? Thx for the help

It will be hot, if you can push off till next year it may be better.

I went to South Africa in October. It was birthing and breeding time for a lot of the animals. The hunting was not so good as in their fall. Yes, it was hot too.

Agree with both replies above, I'd push it out if possible.

And how about May 2019 is may a good month?

Much better. Its breeding time and the weather is much better. Could be some lingering rain, but I would take that to hit the rut.

Perfect thanks so much will be going may or april then.

Yes April or May will be really good times

Most South African outfitters begin their season in March and hunt through the month of November. Then the "off-season" is down time for maintenance, and it's sportsman's show and marketing season here in North America so many African outfitters are in North America for 2 or 3 months.

November can be hot, but I guarantee that you will find many outfitters ready willing and able to accommodate you on a great hunt in November. You will likely get a much better deal hunting that time of year and save significantly on airfare too. Heck, you might even get to swim in the pool that all of the outfitters have which I never got to dip in because it was too cold when I went at peak season. If you can take a little heat I would say go for it! Check out my buddies at Limcroma. I know they will show you great hunt in the late season.

Perfect thx for the tip

Another vote for April or May. June, depending on area, can be cold as in freezing temperatures.

:/ so what would be a month not the could but not that hot and good to hunt

Late April through May or September into the first two weeks of October before the rains begin. Mild to warm temps but not hot, still not peak season, and still cheaper airfares.

Absolutely, what he said!

I hunted the last two weeks of November in SA last year and had a great safari! Yes it was hot, but if you can deal with that then you can get some great deals that time of year. I'm also going back again this year at the same time.

I've also hunted in April/May and the temperature is a lot more pleasant that time of year.

Good luck which ever time of year you go!

I hunted the last part of March in SA. We had some rain, and a few days where temps hit upper 80's to low 90's F - warm but not unbearable by any means. The impala rut was just barely starting, most everything else had not

Ask your potential outfitter what type of hunting he does when it rains and if they can use a vehicle to get around their hunting parcels. Due to the mud, some areas can not be traversed with a vehicle when it rains and even for days after it rains. Four wheel drive and winches can be useless too. Don't ask me how I know. :(

May... dark moon....

Maybe we should ask what you want to hunt first before we say yes or no, some species are better in the late dry season! others are not.

Chopped up the whole thing as I kept hitting the 240 character limit...
Found out the trigger word in the end... It was muzzle or velocity. dropped them and it posted.:)
