I used a jigsaw with a BOSCH T313AW saw blade for foam cutting.

I used an electric carving knife ( the kind you would use on a turkey or pot roast) and drew a line with a magic marker on the blade where I wanted the depth to be. My wife wasn't happy, but it did a good job.

Hi, I have also used an electric carving knife before, but got a better results with the jigsaw.

I fit my case with a scalpel (11 blade) and a boning knife. Outlined the rifles in sharpie and cut roughly 1/4” inside the outline for a snug fit. I like the electric carving knife idea.

When flying, optics go in my carry on.
When driving in the USA, the rifle case looks like @littlebear

Hi. I have made the cutting so it fits 5 different rifles, from a 6,5x57 to my .416 Rigby.

Hadn't thought of that! Going to get to work on mine!

I like the electric carving knife idea, but I did mine with a filet knife. I always have a couple extra foam inserts, so I can change up the complement depending on where I am going and what I might be hunting.

Here's a photo of Tony receiving that Shaw & Hunter award at the 1970 annual EAPHA Dinner Dance. Tony Dyer, then EAPHA President and Princess (Sunny) von Auersperg presented it. I also attended the event.
