Thanks for the info Mike.
There are some important points to consider from this article and add them to the other advice you will find here.

Synopsis from the article headings.

1) First of all never book a hunt based solely on what an outfitter/guide or booking agent tells you.

2) Decide up-front what kind of hunt you are interested in and capable of doing.

3) As part of your research, check articles and hunt reports.

4) Check out operators ahead of time. Specifically, before a show.

5) Also, check hunt reports on operators.

6) Always ask operators for references and always call all of them.

7) Ask specific questions and do not accept general or ambiguous responses.

8) Make sure you understand the fair chase standards of your hunt.

9) Ask for a complete breakdown of charges.

10) Check to make sure your guide/outfitter is legal.

11) Seriously consider an operator who is a member of the* local professional hunters association*.

12) Finally, many hunting operators provide a contract that you must sign.

Bonus tip: While not a tip for avoiding a bad hunt, we strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance.

also don't book a hunt, and then starting asking what people think of it..

It's too late to cahnge your mind.

I have been using a "Personal Property" rider on my State Farm homeowner's policy to cover guns when I travel with them.
I have several firearms, but only one is worth over $20K (A Heym double rifle).
Very interested.
Would firearms be covered for damage, as well as, complete loss?
I'll can let the State Farm rider cover my watches...

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.
