How many of you hunt Africa with your Blaser???

I haven’t taken mine to Africa YET! In fact the only thing I’ve shot with it so far is a coyote with the 9.3x62. I love the rifle. Recently ordered my fifth barrel, if that’s any indication of what I think of the R8.
So, now one of us needs to ask you to list the five calibers you chose. I suspect your list will be well supported and added to.

@TOBY458 clearly chooses the larger calibers! I’d add a smaller something, with a suppressor. I probably double or triple my total round count by having a .22lr and shooting in the yard.

If you are doing just a single stock, I'd recommend going with the GunFoam case GF-3714 that is nearly identical in size to the Pelican 1700. You will be able to fit one stock, two barrels, two scopes with ease. Send me a DM if you have any questions.

The one I have is just a tad bigger to accommodate Mrs BeeMaa's beautiful timber stock & 300WM Selous barrel. ;)
The timber stock is prettier. Will look great in the Safari pics.

That’s the plan! She’s still trying to decide what she wants to hunt. Might be a game time decision. LOL.

Warthogs are cool.
Aside from that the species with straight horns look cool.
Gemsbok taste good too.

I still remember the day when I was standing in Horst Blaser’s office, Mr. Blaser: founder of Blaser company, globally known for fine guns. It was in 1975 when he presented me with my new gun, a Bockbüchsflinte (shotgun barrel plus rifle barrel 7x57 R - 16/70), quite an useful combination gun for European hunting conditions.

He was a very pleasant person, his company still small. These days I’m not hunting with Blaser weapons anymore, for my liking the company got too big, too impersonal.

Started with the 9.3x62 ( due to this site), then added a .300 Wby and a .270. Recently added a .257 Wby and just ordered a .375 Wby from Pale Horse Zero. A .30/06 or .308 and a .22LR will probably join the group.

For me, the R8 was the answer to the African question; way better to travel with the R8 with .375 and 300WM barrels than multiple rifles. But even traveling with a single barrel is super convenient with a small case like this Negrini:

I am a self-proclaimed Blaser fanatic :-). I have 3 R8s and 2 F3s along with a whole lot of other guns that never get used LOL!

22 Hornet, 6.5 Creedmoor, 300 WIn Mag and 375 H&H are my goto calibers.. I recently put one of them in a GRS Bifrost stock for long range hunting as I am headed to Tajikistan in December for Marco Polo. No problem hitting steel at 700+ yards with my 300 WM barrel!

375 H&H gets it done in the Caprivi!

They have never let me down!!!

Mine is a J Sip aftermarket barrel ( before they had as many issues with service)
I am ordering a 416 Ruger barrel for mine from J Sip - I assume the magnum bolt head correct?

Yes that will be correct. What profile are you getting?
I’m thinking 19mm semi weight.. I have a 416 Ruger in a Ruger Alaskan now and the barrel weight would be about a semi weight…

I believe you are correct with the MA bolt head, but I know @Daisy has a J Sip 416RUGER. If he doesn't chime in, send him a DM.

Everyone always thinks about the worst thing that can happen, maybe ask yourself what's the best outcome that could happen?
