Don't have time to look the information up, but do outfitters have to apply for a honey badger permit months before a client arrives? Are outfitters limited on how many them can take?

In Limpopo not currently yet but with a new draft looming it would probably become nearly impossible to get a permit . I hunted 6 last year . They do limit you to one per property currently and there are talks of limits of one per outfitter per year ....... This while I have 5 on bait in one video devouring my leopard bait ....... Permit needs to be done at least 3 weeks in advance

Happy Hunting !!!

Thanks that is the kind of on the ground information I was looking for!

The Honey Badger would make a great trophy. I also would like one. I have seen 1 adult and 2 smaller ones in the bush. However, I did not have a permit for taking one.

If you think you have the option to take one while on safari, check with your PH about obtaining the proper permits prior to going on safari.

I have found it is better to have the paper work in place and not see one, than see one and not have the proper paper work in hand.

On my last PG hunt in South Africa, we saw a Honey Badger on a Caracal bait. My PH wasn't sure if I could shoot it, so I didn't. When we checked with the Outfitter's wife, she said "No way, permits were not available."

as a trophy they would be right up there .....
man I would be happy to see one and sit back watching it for half an hour .shoot some stills. and maybe some video .
bloody good thing you didn't pop him buffy, oldmate .

Back After a Long Time – Hello Again!

Hi everyone,

I’ve been a member since 2015 but haven’t been active since 2017. Life got busy, especially with building my second business. Still, I’ve kept my passion for hunting and followed things from afar. Now that I have more time, I’m excited to reconnect, contribute, and be part of the community again.

All the best,
ANDY
