When planning your vacation, there are several considerations in determining whether to use a travel agent. Which airlines get the best reviews? Can a travel agent save you money in the long run? Which airlines are firearm-friendly? What is the fastest route to get to your destination?

These are questions we get often! Using a knowledgeable travel agent can save you a lot of stress, time, and hassle when planning your next trip. We do our best to stay up to date on the issues facing the global sportsman so you don’t have to wonder about changing regulations, hidden fees, and conflicting information found elsewhere. Booking through Travel Express is the smart way to travel. . .
Beginning November 1, 2010, all passenger reservations must include Secure Flight Passenger Data which consists of the passenger name “exactly” as it appears on ID used for travel (passport), date of birth, and gender. Airline reservations that do not exactly match your travel document may result in denied boarding and additional expenses to correct the problem.

Real ID:

Real ID requirement is now supposed to go into effect May 7, 2025. Find out more with the Department of Homeland Security.

Flights are available to book 11 months prior to your return date. We like to have your flight details around this time frame and can advise you of current versus average rates and suggested routes for your proposed travel itinerary.

When planning the timing of flights, you can typically figure one to two days each direction for travel if you are leaving from the U.S. to Africa or Argentina. Factors that can change that timeline are routings via Europe or UAE, extended layovers, or even forced overnights due to flight schedules.
If traveling onward from a major hub then you may have a forced overnight due to the timing of the connection flights. Flights to New Zealand and Australia arrive two days after departure from the U.S. due to crossing the international dateline but you normally return home on the same date as your departure on the return flights. Knowing these routes allows us to easily compare and suggest the best options for you.

Worry less and let Travel Express guide you through the process.

We strongly recommend travelers take a minimum of 4 copies of ALL important documents. That includes items such as a passport, itinerary, proof of insurance coverage, 4457, firearm declaration or transit permit, visa, and invitation letter.

Thank you for your continued business @Rare Breed !

I used them for Tanzania and will be using them for South African trip in July, just waiting for airline ticket prices to go down so Jennifer can work her magic!!

We appreciate you @rafter3 ! And fingers crossed we can find a great deal for you!

Jennifer is great, she even puts up with me and all my weird questions and thoughts
Hahahaha weird questions are another one of my specialties!
And glad to put a name and AH username together Trey! Sometimes I don't know who is who on here.

@Boris11 we would be happy to help.

I usually use a travel agent and can’t remember ever having any hiccups in my travel
And probably never not book anything with out one !
This year 5 days before we where to leave , I had a emergency surgery on my kidney and called my Hunting buddy who had handled the travel and asked who I needed to contact to cancel and talk to about our trip insurance and what would happen ?
Much to my surprise he said he booked everything and didn’t get trip insurance ( well needless to say I lost my entire payment for air , transfer, hotel , charter , guide) holy smokes never ever will I let Someone else besides a travel agent book for me , both going and not having an insurance policy like rip cord in case I need emergency evacuations ( I very well could have needed a medical evacuation if hadn’t gotten E. coli infection in the USA) !
I put a travel agent as important as the hunting agent/ guide/ company!

So PSA not picking a travel agency or not having a emergency plan/ insurance could be huge financial risk

These are things you should consider when talking to your travel agency

P.s.s
Consult your agent about paying import taxes on your gear like binoculars, fishing gear & lures, knife laws

I'm scheduled to travel to South Africa in June, should I book now or wait?

I have used Jennifer since 2018 when first started going to Africa. Six trips later and several hiccups she had to sort out a couple times. Will always call her when I start planning a trip

I'll suggest that you give her a call or send a email rather than conversing on a forum, you'll get the answers to your questions a lot quicker.

If your safari company doesn't provide complete service for your guns, use an agent.

Hi guys, and happy Wednesday!
Thank you @1dirthawker @Mark Biggerstaff for your continued support and trust in us, we appreciate you very much.

@SStomcat it doesn't hurt to reach out now, as we've seen 2025 rates slightly higher than last year. And if we can start work on flights early, then it gives us time to wait if prices are not competitive now.

This happens all too often.

Everyone always thinks about the worst thing that can happen, maybe ask yourself what's the best outcome that could happen?

Do you have any cull hunts available? 7 days, daily rate plus per animal price?
