Home workouts for heavy poundage bows

Dont forget to practice in a way to promote better strength. A few years back a friend of mind and I were getting ready for Utah Elk hunting. We would go to our local club which had a 100yard range. I would come to draw and he would tell me when to shoot. The earliest would be 90 seconds. We would compete on who had the best groups at 100. Holding for that long with high poundage bows is tiring and that kind of static strain on your muscles can build strength also.
Thanks it's going pretty good not even been a week and I've already pulling about 75 lbs way easier

The chest expander in Ridge Runner's post and push-up along with drawing and letting down his bows is how Gary Scentman trained to pull is world record (174.4 lbs) in the seventies. I am impressed with the war bow weights but they are drawing very differently and that method is not going to work well in a hunting situation.

One thing that will help you avoid injury is to not jump more than 5 or so pounds of draw weight whenever you increase...

What exactly is the chest expander and push up along with drawing and letting down? I'm a little confused there or maybe I'm not reading that right

The chest expander is a home fitness device of two handles with a series of springs that connects them. The exercise is to pull the springs outward with both hands. The second or third post in this thread shows a picture of one.

So he drew his bow back and held it for a few seconds and then let's down?

I have been using a "Personal Property" rider on my State Farm homeowner's policy to cover guns when I travel with them.
I have several firearms, but only one is worth over $20K (A Heym double rifle).
Very interested.
Would firearms be covered for damage, as well as, complete loss?
I'll can let the State Farm rider cover my watches...
Behind the scenes of taking that perfect picture.....

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.
